I'm sorry, but there's a lot of pretenders to the throne but there can be only one... Little and Friday is not only the best cafe in auckland but I'd argue you'd be hard pressed to find a better cafe in the whole country.
The selection decision is quite possibly the hardest one you'll be confronted with in your adult life...it's that good! My fingers are quivering just writing this...bring on my next little and Friday visit!

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I've been to Little and Friday twice this week...how piggy is that!
So, it obviously doesn't take much convincing to make a trip to Little & Friday. They've got the formula sorted and no matter what you try (I think I've probably been 4 or 5 times in total), savoury or sweet - the taste is unbeatable.
The other upshot is the coffee is also really good (supreme I think)...try the rhubarb tart if you get a chance...or can break yourself away from the cream donuts!

Went to Little & Friday in Takapuna for the first time this past weekend and it really lives up to the hype. Delicious baking and a friendly, non-pretentious set up made for a lovely Sunday morning treat.

This place is super busy but the food is DELICIOUS My fav is the lemon coconut cakes, HEAVEN ON EARTH. I recently bought the Little & Friday recipe book and tried to recreate but not the same. It's so worth the drive to Belmont if like me you live over the other side of Auckland. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED I PROMISE YOU. Well done guys I'm thrilled your cafes are thriving and it looks like the recipe is going to be a success as well. Congratulations.

if ever there was an enjoyable way to put on a lot of weight fast it would have to be by frequenting Little and Friday on a daily basis. Unbelievably good - savoury AND sweet stuff is without equal in any of Auckland's cafes.
Go on - enjoy a Little and Friday's cream donut - it's as close to culinary heaven as you can get people.

Love love love Little and Friday! It's a 5 minute walk from our house and used to be "Our little secret". It's now uber busy and we struggle to get a seat outside on one of the pale green handpainted bench seats. The order every weekend is for a savoury brioche (feta, sundried tomatoes, spinach goodness) and a bacon and egg pie (amazing). We love Little and Friday and a weekend would not go by without it. Well worth a visit (even if you're taking it away from us locals).

I know what you mean K122Y! I thought it was our little secret and managed to keep it to ourselves for a while but now Little and Friday is a reason to visit the shore in its own right.
Should vary it up a bit though - the Bacon and egg pies are great but everything is good there....I always leave room for a treat too (either donut, coconut and lemon cake or even the apple pie! I see there's a Little and Friday cookbook coming out in April - can't wait! - Report

I've had so many yummy things at Little & Friday that I don't know which ones I should talk about! I am a big fan of pastry and to me no-one does it as well as this place. The toppings on their tarts (sweet and savoury) are all delicious, fresh and interesting, but the pastry just melts in your mouth. The doughnuts totally live up to their reputation and the cakes are a work of art. I also love the fact that although the food is a real treat, it is all homemade and fresh and natural, and you come away feeling really good about what you've eaten. The coffee is excellent too.
