The ViewAuckland Review
Vibe
Occupying a spacious corner of the Martha’s Fabrics store just a few blocks back from Newmarket’s retail strip. Two big shared tables are filled with lots of design and foodie magazines, so plan on staying longer at Little & Friday's Newmarket than you envisaged.
Service
Enthusiastic and friendly, with my coffee arriving just moments after I sat down.
Drinks List
Excellent double shot coffees, and interesting juices and smoothies. Extra points got to Little & Friday's for the complimentary water with mint and cinnamon. It’s the little things that count.
Highlights
Lots of yummy baked goods that effortlessly blend a retro Kiwi vibe and cosmopolitan flavours. Go savoury with one of Auckland’s best sausage rolls, or a brilliant onion and mozzarella tart. For those with a sweet tooth, there’s mini chocolate cup cakes and zingy lemon curd and coconut cake.
Most Suprising Dish
A stellar array of small but perfectly formed macaroons, including plum and coffee flavours. Perfect with a second long black.
The Bottom Line
One of the North Shore’s best cafes effortlessly makes the trip across the Harbour Bridge from Takapuna to Newmarket.
A Reason To Return
The expanded weekend menu, including Little & Friday’s world-famous-in-Auckland steak and mushroom pies.
