Came in to visit La Zeppa as a friend suggested the venue last weekend. What a great place. We sat outside in the sun and orderd some plates and wines out there. We tried the risotto balls, tuna and breads - it was hard to choose dishes as there were so many that sounded good. Good reason to come back though. Definitely recommend this venue, the service was great, location was easy and central and had great views. Give this place a try for sure.
La Zeppa is my favourite bar in Auckland. Here on Friday night with the work crew. In my opinion, consistently good vibe make La Zeppa one of the best bars around. Good drinks selection and the food is pretty tasty too. Looking forward to a few more reds at La Zeppa over the coming Winter months.
My friend and I went to La Zeppa for an impromptu meal knowing we would get quick service and delicious food. As always, we weren't disappointed. Between the two of us we had the risotto balls, calamari, fries, meatballs and a yummy haloumi salad. Followed by the profiteroles and coffees - all very satisfying. All this and four glasses of good wine for just over $100 - great value.
Had a great Saturday night here for my birthday (heard it gets a bit busy on a Friday), this place has friendly, obliging staff who made wonderful cocktails, and the tapas were delicious! My only slight gripe was that they can get expensive, but really, they are worth it! Great vibe with a range of ages, and I loved the decor! I will be back!
Hadn't been to La Zeppa before and was well hidden down beside Victoria Park Market. When we entered the doors on a Thursday night it was packed but handled the crowd well with a large open plan layout.
Although I didn't have a meal, I noticed Pork belly on the chalk board that made me want to come back and test out.
Staff were good value and there never seemed to be 25 min waits to get to the bar despite the crowd!
Worth checking out.
This is a fantastic place to come for a drink in the evening, I come here quite often and the staff are amazing, the atmosphere is brilliant and its a thoroughly enjoyable place for an evening drink.
And the good reviews convinced me that I should bring a group of people here to eat, bit of a mistake. Nearly every tapa we tried was deep fried or over spiced, the squid was so salty we didn't eat it. The polenta chips were ok, but at over a dollar a chip, more than a bit on the expensive side.
Between 5 of us we ordered 11 tapas, there wasn't one dish that I would have liked to eat again. The chicken Tulips were drowned in sauce, tiny and fatty, even the truffles we ordered for desert were deep fried.
I will continue to drink at La Zeppa, but unless they get a better chef, will not be eating there again.
La Zeppa is our local work lunch place. Usually you can rely on fast service and good food, although some times it pays to tell them you're in a hurry if this is the case. The food is generally good and the menu has loads to choose from. We find choosing two tapas each and sharing a good way to taste lots of different things. Make sure you save room for dessert as La Zeppa serves the yummiest mini donuts!!
La Zeppa is essentially an upmarket booze hall and it does a very good job of it. The food is pretty tasty and goes well with the drinks. The place is pretty big and gets very noisy in the evenings, so I suggest you get there early if you want to grab one of the large tables (or you could book). Overall, not a bad venue for a good night out.
