I met a friend at Kokako early Saturday morning for breakfast. LOVE this cafe! Amazing staff service and beautiful food. I asked for a half portion of the Buckwheat soy pancakes and by the end of it, I wish I had ordered a full serving. They were delicious. Great strong coffee, lovely table settings and all staff, including the chefs, are very approachable and helpful. It is a vegetarian cafe but you would barely notice, the food is THAT good! (coming from a meat lover). I couldn't decide what to order, I wanted to try everything. Perhaps a tasting plate maybe an idea for the indecisive ones like myself. Am a regular at this cafe and will continue to be. The everchanging menu keeps things fresh and always keeps me coming back to try the new additions to this wonderful menu. LOVE Kokako!
Finally got to enjoy brunch at Kokako after more than a few years of meanign to pay this Grey Lynn cafe a visit after hearing my vegetarian friends rave about it.First up - fantastic coffee ( I guess you'd expect that from somewhere that roasts their own) but hats off - coffee was suburb.Food wise, the kumara omelette was delicious - large portions served with bread and a side of yummy pickles. My partner had the Mexican breakfast which also looked pretty good but taste-wise wasn't as worthy! As for the staff, well - they were the icing on top. Friendly, relaxed and even forthcoming with the water....i like, i like! Round two of Kokao is definately on the cards.
Had lunch there with a girlfried who is Pt Chev born & bred so we had to go to Kokako...Love their coffee & they make the best Brownie I've ever tasted (it's gluten free & I am not gluten intollerant :-)
All the food is delicious, healthy & vegetarian..& no I'm not a vegetarian either
Staff are very friendly & give great service...I even left Kokako with a bag of coffee.
Absolutely great experience at Kokako Cafe last week. The setting is very cool and only matched by the hospitality of the staff...they were exceptional! I had a mocha (that comes with a great little brownie/fudge square) and the scrambled eggs. It's not too far a push to say that the eggs served up at Kokako may well be Auckland's finest. Well recommended!
