After having our table booking at Everybody's unceremoniously given away without so much as a phone call we were stranded in Fort St looking for another dining opiton when Kitchen Restaurant at Hotel DeBrett was suggested. Well, all I can say is that every cloud has a silver lining and this was the silveriest of silver linings for us that night. Service was outstanding, food was divine, atmosphere wonderful. Thank you Kitchen for saving our night and elevating the evening to perfection. Won't be back to Everybody's, but will certainly be regulars at Kitchen.
Kitchen Restaurant at Hotel DeBrett is one of the finalist in Cuisine and it should be. We had the sashimi of pacific ocean king-fish, the nutt ranch hazelnut and mushroom tortellini, the crisp skinned john dory with braised oxtail and for dessert the chocolate pavé with peanut butter ice cream, and the buffalo ricotta ‘cheesecake’ with hazelnut shortbread, poached rhubarb, basil sorbet. The food looked great and was a culinary experience. The ambience was stylish yet cosy and beautiful. The staff friendly and efficient. Will certainly go to Kitchen Restaurant again :)
I've been to Kitchen @ Hotel DeBrett a couple of times for a drink but today went for breakfast. We were off to a good start with the coffee - really well made and strong which was much needed. The eggs were cooked to perfection and my partner's muesli was good. It's hard finding somewhere decent for an inner city brunch, and overall we were impressed with the food and service. Aside from this visit, I love the overall hotel setting with its cool atrium and different rooms to relax in.
