Ironique is a lovely little restaurant in Mt Eden that once was De Niro’s. Deceiving from the front, this restaurant is not so little with its large courtyard at the back. The bathroom is quirky with its old copper sink set in the door and once similar for actual use inside. The service adequate and friendly, the wine menu a little limiting. The courtyard nice with the heaters on.

However the food was great, the salads that were said to be ‘light meals’ on the menu actually were very generous. The entrees you could have as mains and the salmon with mash looked very good. Apparently the lamb wasn’t consistent from one plate to another and was over cooked on the whole.

I would go back and try some other things on the menu.

By far the best coffee in Mt Eden, the quality is consistent cause have been patronising Ironique for quite a while now. Breakfasts are tasty, dinners're OK. The staff are always friendly. Sometimes you'll have to wait cause the Ironique is always packed but the wait is worth your while.

Went to Ironique in Mt Eden for a business breakfast that turned into a business lunch. Fast service, good coffee and the food was well presented and delicious. Definitely recommended!

The worst breakfast I had in a very long time........ We unfortunately gave Ironique a $57 donation today. We waited almost an hour for our food, they did say it was a 30 min wait however... On both breakfasts the bacon were rashes of burnt fat, the toast was cold and soggy and the sausages were the cheapest bulk standard kind that you would find in Pak N Save. The are plenty of other cafes in Mt Eden village, do your self a favour and save your money on this one!
