Great little cafe in Takapuna with charming staff, good food and above all else, mighty fine coffee. The lemon cake is hard to beat too - Honey is well worth a look.

A friend recommended Honey to me, it was packed on Mother's Day but they still managed to find us a table which was much appreciated. Good coffee, and the boyfriend liked that they served pork ribs with their Big Breakfast. The Halloumi and minted pea fritters were very filling and I was gutted I was too full to raid the cabinet for sweet treats on my way out! I am also still wondering whether the plants hanging from the ceiling were real or fake as I forgot to look.

Glad to have discovered Honey recently, because I often struggle in Takapuna to find a decent cup of coffee as well as something nice to eat for lunch, all in the same place - sounds simple, but it isn't always! Honey cafe is light and bright with really cool decor, and the staff are very professional and attentive, no matter whether you are there just for a quick bite or a full meal. There is a small range of cabinet food including the delicious savoury muffins, and an interesting menu. My Dad was thrilled to find the French Toast included poached pears, as he doesn't like bananas so usually can't order it. One thing about Honey that can be a bit of a problem is the noise. It is very loud when it is full.

can't keep quiet about this place (although it may end up being to my own detriment) - Honey is amazing! Stylish interior (check out the hanging gardens), comfortable, relaxed staff and most importantly some might fine food. Honey Cafe has got a really interesting menu going on (savoury churros with mushrooms???) but on this visit I just had a savoury muffin which told me enough that I should be returning to this Takapuna cafe for more!

Had a fantastic breakfast at Honey this morning whilst catching up with a few friends.
Lovely and open, the all day breakfast menu is great with quite a number of items on offer that I could easily have opted for - in the end the Honey tasting platter (novel idea btw) was what I oped fore. Poached egg on toast, yogurt, granola and a breakfast salad - can't thing of a better way to start the day really.
This part of Takapuna doesn't get a lot of attention but now that Honey Cafe is open (and judging by it's popularity already), it's good to know there's a bit of variety. I'll be back...save a piece of that delicious-looking banana-choc loaf for me please!
