Hubby & I had a wonderful meal one night at Herne Bay Local with great service and we really enjoyed.Decided to go back for his 60th birthday with our adult children.What a disappointment. Service was very very slow and after 30 mins we did ask for them to take our order. After another 30 mins we noticed a piece of paper on the floor - YES it was our order!!! So another 30mins later we started to get the food. After waiting 10mins with still 2 meals missing we started to eat.Finally the last 2 Sunday Roast meals arrived - These meals HAD to be sent back - Meat was hard and black, even a knife could not cut thru it, veges were burnt. We were offered another roast but declined and had toast and spreads, as by this time other appointments were beckoning and 1/2 of the party had to leave.All other meals were ok, but certainly not up to the standard of our great first visit to the Herne Bay Local Eatery.
visited Herne Bay Local for the first time the other night - I've been meaning to go there for ages and had only heard good things. Really nice decor and relaxed, friendly staff. The wine list is good and with some good specials, however the beer list is pretty limiting.
I know Herne Bay Local is a locals bar but the patrons were consistently looking us up and down...a bit off-putting at first but hey ho! The Herne Bay Local is still well worth visiting.
Nice decor. Staff friendly, but there seemed to be some tension between the kitchen and the wait staff which was disconcerting. The main disappointment with Herne Bay Local Eatery & Bar was that the Sunday roast was a very small portion......in fact so small that my husband came home and made himself a sandwich. What a shame as it would have been great to find somewhere that does a good Sunday roast. We unfortunately won't be returning to Herne Bay Local.
Great place for a drink with friend's and the Tapa's are brilliant!!!
