Hayashi Japanese Restaurant Information

Hayashi Japanese Restaurant in Birkenhead, Auckland, has had more than one mention in Metro magazine: in fact, recently, they were listed as one of the best Japanese restaurants in Auckland - and for good reason. They serve immaculately presented dishes that are creative, light and very distinctive.

We had an awesome meal at Hayashi Restaurant the other night. The food was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. The waitress was a pleasure to deal with - only too happy to help. I would highly recommend Hayashi in Highbury to anyone who likes quality Japanese food, served to you with a smile.

This is without a doubt the best Japanese food in Auckland!!!!! Well worth the south of the bridge Aucklanders a trip over to Birkenhead. I have eaten at most of the other Japanese resturants in Auckland, and although the decor is not as authentic as others, the food is unbeatable. Get the Hayashi special Gozen if hungry and you will not be disappointed, so fresh and well presented.

A friend of mine suggested I try this restaurant. I must admit, I was a bit sceptical that it would be as good as described, particularly when I realised it was in little ol' Birkenhead.

But, I can assure you, the trip over the bridge was worth it. Between the two of us, we ordered a selection of six different meals (sashimi, sushi, pork cutlet, tataki, prawns). You'd think that with this amount of food, we'd be struggling. But, the meals -- light, unique and nothing short of delicious, gave us a good sampling of the menu, without the ensuing heavy feeling.

The restaurant was full, yet we weren't kept waiting to order, or to receive each dish. And the price was very reasonable - around $90 for the two of us (including a few drinks each). I'd definitely recommend Hayashi.
