We were lucky enough to have our staff Christmas party at Hammerheads. The food was outstanding, as was the service and the wine! We shared two seafood platters between 8 people to start with. This gave us a taste of some of the gorgeous mains including tuna, snapper, scallops, salmon and oysters - all cooked to perfection. I had the snapper with artichokes and fondue cheese which was lovely. Finishing with the parfait was the a great way to finish. Would recommend this to anyone who enjoys excellent seafood, big portions and great service.

Incredible food, fantastic views and good service, we had an amazing meal at hammerheads, ordering the risotto and snapper dishes both of which were delicious, all in all it was money very well spent!

Hammerheads is one of the best Seafood restaurants not only in Auckland but NZ.
I've been wanting to go for ages and finally got round to it for my father-in-law's birthday.
First impression excellent, a wonderful restaurant in an old sewer house!!!!
The service was superb, efficient yet anonymous.
The food- Entrees had were the seared tuna, a crisp and clean salad with super fresh tuna that was mine and a great choice.
The chicken entree again, thoroughly enjoyed and a taste sensation, and finally the snapper looked as great as it tasted.
As for mains, I insisted on myself having fish although the eye filet sounded great!!
I had snapper with seafood medley, which was amazing, the flavours on the sauce really stood out, my partner had side dishes combined as she’s not a fish eater but her dad had the eye filet which he said was "excellent"

Now for dessert I have mention before I am a cheese eater, My partner and her dad thought their desserts where exceptional which is what I would expect from Valrohna chocolate tart. My partner had bread and butter pudding, which in some restaurants can be a disaster but not here.
However I was disgraced at my cheese board the cheese was cheap NZ cheese and was solid as it was just out of the fridge and I imagine pre cut, slapped on a plate with a huge bunch of grapes and a few crackers. It didn’t ruin my night but was awful.
To sum up the food is amazing the setting is beautiful but avoid the cheese unless you need a doorstop!

Late last year we went to Hammerheads Seafood Restaurant as part of a end of year corporate do and couldn't have been more impressed with the experience. I guess the Hammerheads staff would have been pulling out all the stops, but the food, staff and in particular the setting couldn't be faulted....hence the reason why we're back for Mother's Day...let's hope Hammerheads is just as good this time around!
