.i went to GPK Albany on the weekend, normally i would go to GPK Takapuna which i think is great!!! but as this was closer so we went here for lunch with a friend. i ordered a salad which when it came out we both commented no where near as good as Takapuna GPK half the amount of chicken and just an all round average meal ,but we were not bothered as we were enjoying our lunch out together. After eating majority of my lunch i looked at the fork full i was about to put in my mouth and there was a dead cockroach !!!!!! on my fork covered in the dressing, i immediately spat the other food out in my mouth and went to get the waiter as i was disgusted, he response to me was, it must have flown in while i was eating lunch and i said no way as it was dead and clearly in the dressing. i was disgusted and they just did not care at all .The seemed very unhelpfully in making this situation better and we had to tell them to take the food off our bill, we then finished out bottle of wine and during this time the waiter came out to us and said i thought you were hard to deal with, you should see what i am dealing with inside?? i felt this was a stupid thing to say.as why mock other unhappy diners to us who have complained also! just made your service look worse as we realised we wern’t the only people complaining We finally finished our drinks and went to the bar to pay where i am assuming it was the manager who said to me, are you still here aren’t you the salad girl? and joked about it, We got no sorry for that etc etc just made jokes, i was pissed off that they were clearly mocking me for complaining, then add insult to injury they then over charged me and didn’t even take all the food off our bill. All in all very disappointing service and clearly some one needs to know how to handle complaints in that restaurant better and know that mocking your unhappy diners is not the way to fix an already bad situation. Also you clearly need to clean your kitchen a lot

Ive eaten here a number of times. Ive had some "club meetings" where we have eaten our dinner and discussed business at the same time. It worked for us. We were all happy with our meals, the service, the variety of drinks, the parking outside and the price were all satisfactory. I couldn't complain about anything. The staff where really obliging.

GPK is a great place to have dinner. The food is exceptional and really enjoyed the setting.

Too dear for me. food was great but just a shame i couldn't afford the full course

I entered GPK a vegetarian, and left wondering where meat has been all my life. I happily went along to GPK knowing that they will have options on the menue for herbivores.
My partner ordered steak as its not something I normally cook for him. It came out and smelled amazing and didnt look terrible, i dont know if it was the type of steak or the marinade but after having not eaten meat for 5 or so years I have never craved it so badly. I surprised everyone including myself and asked to try it - I even ordered one for myself! It was amazing and I cant wait to get back to try it again. The staff were really nice and it was great having a drink before dinner at the bar next door.

I really enjoy going to GPK Albany. The staff are charming and attentive without being over the top. The food is really great and the brand consistency really comes through. I enjoy sitting outside by one of the fires with a glass of wine. Great!

Went there late on sunday which I understand can be a dodgy time to eat at a branded restaurant....But why, if your open do it properly!
They have a new menu which has lost what I thought was their best dish and they've added totally out of season ingredients such as basil!!! If you write a new menu keep it seasonal!!
Suprise suprise, they had no basil for my flavourless pasta and didnt mention just thought I was stupid so gave me bitter rocket instead!!!
The pear salad was leaves after leaves and only a tiny amount of the ingredients stated on the menu.
Learn salt and pepper.
Need cutlery with crab otherwise I can get the meat out!!!!
Waitress however was really friendly and decent at her job.
