Come along to Frolic Café, one of Auckland’s best cafes. This Iconic Café is located on Manukau Road, Epsom; just across the road from the entrance to the One Tree Hill Stardome Observatory.

Choose to dine street side, inside the contemporary yet a little edgy café, or perhaps out on the back covered deck area which is great for bigger groups and families too. We also happily take care of your needs if you wish to take your coffee or meal away. The team at Frolic are well known for service that is relaxed yet attentive.

At Frolic the Baristas make coffee proudly supplied by Melba Espresso™, seeking to make each cup perfectly. We have a great range of options for either Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch or from the deli cabinet.

Popped into Frolic on Saturday afternoon for a coffee as the kids played with their Dad on the playground across the road at Cornwall Park. The staff were all busy doing the afternoon tidy up and no-one noticed me even thou it was only shortly after 3, and I believe they close at 4. However, once I got someones attention they were very friendly and the takeaway coffee was very good. I noticed on their loyalty cards that they are somehow related to Cafe Melba in Takapuna, and the coffee was quite similar.

I no longer have young children, but when I visit Frolic I notice that there is a large child-friendly area out the back.
Frolic is my local cafe so I go there often - sometimes to have a meeting with clients and other times after a walk around Cornwall Park.
My house has been inundated with flies this summer - they are really hard to get rid of. But I haven't been bothered by flies at Frolic.
The previous owner (Nigel) had great food for all and I have not tried the new owners selection.
However the coffee is good and the service is excellent.

Popped into Frolic Cafe for lunch having heard this was a good child friendly cafe. Whilst they do have a box of toys for children and sell gingerbread men, we were disappointed with the overall experience. There was a real lack of food for kids and the selection of counter food for those wanting a quick visit was also lacking. My Turkish bread sandwich was tough with a soggy inside and hard to eat, but the coffee was okay. Our preschooler didn't like any of the options on offer so settled for a gingerbread man and the emergency crackers in my bag. There were also flies inside which were annoying to say the least. Sorry, Frolic just didn't meet my expectations.

this is a great local spot for breakfast/ coffee etc, especially if you have kids as they have a good space at the back that contains the toddlers with toys! and you can pop over when you're finished to the playground at Cornwall Park!
