Why o why do we do it to ourselves! My husband suggested we go to Mt Eden for a Mothers Day treat. The thought was there but it must have been top of mind for every other Aucklander!
Nothing against Frasers (as I have been and dined there a number of times before all with good experiences), but the shear volumes unfortunately didnt make for a good experience. I had the cinnamon waffles - very american but a bit of a disappointment and my husband had rather bland scrambled eggs...
Far too cramped (and hectic - we both have vowed not to go out on these calendar occasions) - but if you do go to Frasers make sure you grab a delicious slice of apricot shortcake to take away - worth savouring!
They serve the best pancakes in Auckland in my opinion. Great atmosphere and perfect place for a breakfast or lunch with friends or a romantic coffee with the partner.
Frasers in Mt Eden is a good example of a happy and humming cafe right in the heart of the metropolis. Normally always busy its best to come early to ensure a seat!
The perfect local in the heart of Mt Eden. Consistently the best coffee in Auckland - I would - and often do - go out of my way to stop off at Frasers. Great spot.
We arrived in Auckland 5 weeks ago and after a drive through Mt Eden thought we'd chance Frasers cafe, it looked busy so decided it must be good. How right we were, a great selection of cakes and savoury - haven't tried anything from the menu yet but will definately next time i'm there. We love the NY baked cheesecake and the soya cappucino's to go with, but even the savoury muffins are delectable. I've been 3 times and it has been consistent.
I agree that it can get quite busy and cramped at times but for a quick coffee and a bite it's worth it.
Great place, nice atmosphere, great service & cakes there is a MUST!!...especially the Banofee Pie...just awesome!!
As long as you don't have a big group, Frasers Cafe & Espresso Bar is a great place to meet friends for a weekend brunch. There is plenty of seating inside, and it is a tight squeeze so don't bring your pushchair.
They do good coffee and the food is delicious. I'd recommend the heart shaped waffles - a nice touch. The downside is not having table service, especially when you fancy a second coffee. One of the best things about Frasers is you get to browse the Mt Eden shops when you're finished.
I would definitely recommend Frasers Cafe & Espresso Bar as a great place to go to breakfast or lunch. I have eaten here a few times now and have thouroughly enjoyed it. The food, coffee, service and atmosphere are all fantastic!
