Not so good a return to Four Seasons this time, it seems the students should understand English before attending a NZ Hospitality course and being told to look up Google when asked how something was cooked is not good service out of laziness of not wanting to ask the Chef. The teacher was to blame as he was not watching them as they put your wine glass in the middle of the area where your plate would later go. The student barman was the slowest I had seen holding up the service of the whole restaurant. As for the food, it could have certainly been hotter. But otherwise it came out together in a timely manner and was tasty and well presented. I would say that its a little old school in food fashion and the Chef needed to get with the times a little. Patience is required however $40 for 3 courses is good value for money.

I decided our group should try something new and that was AUT's Four Seasons Restaurant . We were served our wine by a nervous student, but nerves just mean you care. A great little space, perhaps the décor was done by design students, in any case very cool.

The table was set in the old fashioned way with the full set of cutlery including the dessert spoon across the top regardless of what you were to order.

We had a waiter and waitress to our table and they were very tentative. The food was good, large portions, the only negative I could say is the food was not hot including my steak although cooked very well. The menu was good, 4 choices of all 3 courses.

I had for my Entree coddled eggs, crayfish, poached prawns, chilli lemon grass oil and grilled sourdough. Main - Chargrilled Sirloin, straw potatoes, mushroom, rocket, beetrot and parmesansalad and hollaindaise. And dessert - Chocolate Mousse, almond crumb, roast caramelised pear, chocolate shards and spicy puff straws.

I would sum the AUT restaurant up as saying that its better than some regular restaurants I have been to and I would return given the value for money of just $40 for 3 courses.
