Fort Street Union Information
Fort Street Union is a pub with a twist. A little bit of cool, a little bit of the familiar and a little bit of surprise. Created within 450m2 of heritage space with 120m2 of that being a rooftop courtyard. Honest food and classic drinks live here.

Went here last week. Lovely surrounds, the patio is nice to sit out (albeit crowded with smokers). The pizzas were reasonably good value - $14 for a small tandoori chicken pizza. The iced tea cocktails were delicious. Great for an after work drink.
Im always impressed by the food in this place. Fort Street Union comes across as more of a bar but the food is really good value. I like the rotisserie and lamb shanks and the staff are efficient. A good place to go with friends to start the night.
Fort Street Union used to be a favourite but the food has become a bit overpriced for what it is. The beef burger when they first opened was amazing, but is now generic. Same with most things I've found.
The bar itself has an awesome setting, but it hasn't been looked after in the 18 months or so it's been opened - stained, torn upholstery makes it now more of a backpacker bar than one for after work drinks.
I've also found the staffing to have gone downhill. When Fort Street Union first opened I used to rave about the friendly staff, who almost became your mates while serving you. Now it's abrupt and often rude, if you get served at all.
Much better out there - try No.1 High Street or Everybody's for awesome haunts a short walk from this place.
Fort Street Union is one heck of a place - with the backpackers around there's always punters wanting to have a good time of it and the garden bar is the perfect setting for it. The Fort Street Union pizzas are also top draw - recommended!
This place is pretty sweet, especially the outdoor area! Love the open roof where it feels like your inside but you can still smoke. Good one Fort St Union!
Love Fort Street Union! The loyalty scheme is awesome and the joining offer of free beer and pizza is a really good draw. FSU wins points for the outdoor rooftop area and buzzy atmosphere, feels laid back!
Fort Street Union is an awesome bar and restaurant.
Really friendly staff and the food is always so good!
The $13 lunch menu is one of the best in Auckland in my opinion and i love the Fort Street Union loyalty scheme (someone must have a similar eftpos card to me so i always get their points as well, win!).
Plus anything on a rooftopgets an instant tick from me.
Another quality night at Fort Street Union last night...vibe was all good and relaxed and the place was packed. Garden Bar is one of the best in Auckland too...plenty of good times ahead me-thinks.
Fort Street is getting an upgrade and Fort Street Union is a shining example of the kind of place downtown Auckland needs. It is cosy yet spacious, relaxed, and the kitchen pumps out some delicious snacks. I enjoyed a beer and some really good pizza and hot chips on my first visit. Will definitely be back to sample more of the menu and check out the wine list.
Fort Street Union is our local after-work bar. It's been a good find this summer - good drinks list and if you can't be bothered on a Friday night cooking, the pizzas are pretty good too.
Fort Street Union is a great inner city pub. Caught up with a mate after work tonight at this pub and although it was fairly early on in the night, good energy about the place.
Good range of drinks on tap (Monteiths) and the pizzas looked awesome. Seems to attract a young, backpacker type crowd - maybe the reason why the place is so relaxed.
Fort Street Union comes well recommended from this punter.
Very, very cool litle pub! And if you're peckish, and in need of a comfort meal, go the rotisserie chicken - it'll be worth your while.
Planning on a few more visits to Fort Street Union over the next few months for sure.
