I work in Pt Chev and this little cafe is a fave. It's a bit quirky and bitsy, but I like that.

There are about four different sitting areas, each offering it's own uniqueness... the buzz of the front counter area, the quirkiness of the inner room with lots to look at, the narrow conservatory where you can enjoy the sunshine but avoid the wind, and the rustic outdoor garden area with the kids play area. Each area has fun decor and plenty of greenery and their is unique local art splashed all throughout the cafe, with some of it even for sale. Apparently there's a fifth area upstairs which can be used as a meeting venue, but I've not even ventured up there yet! I'm a bit surprised that the courtyard is the smoking area and the children's play area too ... if I had kids I would avoid this place because of it.

The menu is extensive with a huge blackboard menu and a display cabinet full of scrumptious looking food and a salad bar with creative offerings. They have taken standard dishes and given them a great little twist, such as Italian scrambled eggs with sun-dried tomatoes and pastrami or their Mince on Toast which I ordered and was amazing, full of flavours and just delicious! The food is all home-made and served in generous portions. The coffee is good - it's their own brand so I don't know much about it, except my trim flat white is always spot on (with no froth, which is where SO many cafes make the mistake). And I like the selection of cold drinks available (it's not often I see Orangina which I love!).

To top off the great food and great decor, the staff are always very friendly and happy to chat. I highly recommend this place and it would get five stars from me, if only their courtyard environment wasn't ruined by the cigarette smoke. But I'd definitely return (again and again!).
