Great Food and service :) I would agree
But child friendly not :(
Would go back .... but not with children next time
which was disappointing :(
Now that they have started serving dinner at the weekend, I eat here at least once a month. The evening menu is a step above the day-time cafe menu, which is damn good in it's own right. Definitely recommended!
What a great place to take the kids, friendly staff and excellent outdoor area.
One of the best kid-friendly places going in Auckland - Fernielea Cafe can get chocker so do get in early...but do leave room for me and my tribe won't you!
Like the previous reviews below, Fernielea (on the Riverhead-Coatesville Highway and only 5 mins out of Albany) is quite a find.
Great for kids - play area outside and train set inside - fast and efficient service and some great cafe fodder. Kids will love the flower shaped sandwhiches!

Stumbled upon this great cafe while out for a drive one weekend and have been back twice. Once with my 2 year old and the grandparents for lunch and another visit with a friend and our 2 2 year olds for coffee. Its ideal for children rain or shine with fenced grass area, playground and sandpit outside and train set, books, etc inside. Yummy food, great coffee, friendly staff and prompt service. Well worth the drive into the country.
Billy you are spot on - Fernilea on the Coatesville / Riverhead Highway DOES do the best eggs benedict in Auckland. This cafe ROCKS. Great cafe fodder, pleasant surroundings, a good outdoor are for kids plus things for them to do inside when its wet, fast, efficient and polite service. Definitely worth driving out this way.
you have to come to try it for yourself the eggs benny are the best in nz without a doubt,
we drive miles because its worth it!
