Everest Dine is on the main drag of Parnell, past an ice cream shop which is open late and sits up a staircase like it really is a mountain.

It’s quite a cute, non-assuming space, much like you’re in a Wendy house. A strange set up with an extension off the main restaurant where the bar is and where you go to pay your bill, but quaint none the less. We were greeted by a friendly waiter who seated us and laid napkins on our lap which all of a sudden made you feel like you were transported to a silver service establishment.

What’s the difference between Nepalese food and Indian you ask? Well Indian dishes use cream or yoghurt where as Nepalese doesn’t so it’s a bit dryer and therefore when you ask for medium the Indian will be milder and the Nepalese – spicer!

For starters we decided on Nepalese dumplings which I definitely would not have thought of finding on an Indian menu. They were truly delish especially the sauce that was served with them.

For mains we shared a Butter chicken of course and a Nepalese Lamb curry with Roti and rice. The lamb dish had a kick which had the waitress running with some Raita to tame down my firey mouth. Everything was delicious though.

This is the first time I have had Nepalese. The restaurant is BYO with a $10 corkage and with a total bill of only $67 for two I thought it was great value. I’ll be back.
