It is important, especially if you have booked, to be seated immediately. Much to our disappointment the person in charge of processing the bills after the meal was the same person inviting guests to their tables. After waiting for two groups of people to pay for their meal, the group that came in before us were seated, and then us. I was told on the phone that yes, they had reserved a table by the window for us. Unfortunately we were put at a table in the middle somewhere and we both had to sit on the same side of the table to awkwardly glance over the people shoulders by the window to get a good view of the fireworks. The atmosphere was cute, although a tad cold but once we started eating and drinking it was fine. I ordered pork and partner had the eye fillet. After specifying medium rare my partners steak was well done. My pork was so dry and overcooked I had to drown it in the remnants of watery sauce to get any flavour out of it. We guessed the meat had been sitting for too long before being served. All this aside we were asked a few times if everything was OK. Bill time, and we were waiting yet again at the counter. The waiter couldn't find out order on the computer, or remember what table we were at. It's a shame that the food wasn't great and service could of been a lot better, or we would be back again. Elevation Cafe has potential to be great, but for a total bill cost of $110, we expected much more.
Was hesitant to try Elevation Cafe & Restaurant ... but WOW!! WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED. We arrived just after 6 and were greeted warmly, a lovely autumn evening we were given the option if sitting outside which we did as the view was stunning. The waiter a (young salamlian man) was excellent right from begginig to end we tipped him he was so good, the food was absolutley delicious everything perfectly cooked and arrived in no time. We will be going back as we throughly enjoyed our experince here.i highly reccomend anyone to give this place a try it is worth the beautiful drive. If you are going to sit outside take a jumper its definatly worth it.
Went today with my wife, a friend, his fiancee and her grandchildren, for lunch.
We have been before, several years ago, and enjoyed the view, however today it was raining and cloudy so could not see the cityscape.
The menu was great with a good selection, food was promptly prepared and served, tasted great, with a fresh dessert to follow. Prices were reasonable, especially for the selection available and the quality of food served.
Staff were courteous, efficient, and helpful with all aspects of the meal.
Learnt about the 'open microphone' singing evenings, which my wife wants to go to, and other events which will be of interest.
I'm from out of town and the friend who I was staying with suggested a trip out west for a bit of a walk and a bite to eat. She'd heard good things about Elevation Cafe so we decided to give it a go - and jeez, we were happy that we did! A great setting, friendly staff and good food/coffee...Elevation is well worth the trip out!
I was back again this time for Valentines day and again Elevation did not disappoint. The Staff were friendly and service was snappy. Entree of scallops was cooked to perfection and steak was cooked just the way I like it. Coupled with the views and reasonable price it's a hard place to beat.
Elevation is perhaps one of Auckland’s best kept secrets. Although I have never tried the Pizza after my many years of patronage at the restaurant, I can vouch that the rest of the menu is spot on. Prices have always been adequately priced, but in the end it’s the overall experience with great service and ambiance that leaves you wanting to come back and relax once again.
After reading the last review posted on the 15th of May we were a little reticent to go to elevations café. But I’m so glad we did. The experience was first class. The food was exquisite and well presented. Our waitress was courteous and friendly. Clouds and rain shrouded the view but that didn’t dampen the atmosphere of the café. Our coffee arrived promptly and was perfect. The only complaint I have is that I don’t live closer. I’ve found a little gem in the dull pickings of west Auckland. I highly recommend that if you get the chance try it. Don’t be dissuaded by previous reviews.
My husband took me to Elevation for my Birthday dinner... and boy did he earn some major brownie points... The view was spectacular... it was the fist time the two of us sat at one side of the table... and made a guessing game of figuring out the city landmarks by gazing at the lights... The bread was just right, the food was spectacular, the desert exquisite and the servings generous... the service was impeccable... Our waitress had a moment of panic when I left for the car (to get some tip money -- too bad one cannot tip with a Credit Card), but was oh so polite. I cannot wait to go back!
