What a shocker!! Had not been to this resturant in years and decided to go with friends for lunch today. First thing noticed was the shabby exterior of the building and overgrown gardens. Then the 'manager' was so casually dressed I thought he was a patron. The waitresses were very friendly but one was wearing a very short dress that left nothing to the imagination. Totally inappropriate! The menu had changed and didn't seem to feature anything special. I ordered a Thai dish which was tasty but lukewarm. We waited ages for the meal to arrive. No-one came back to check if we wanted any drink top ups. We asked for a table with shade and received two tables split by an umbrella - not great for 3 diners when one is at the end of another table! Bathroom rubbish bins overflowing, fly-dirt all over artwork, dirty childrens toys in cardboard box, yet staff standing around chatting! What a shame as the location and view is amazing but this place needs to be shut down, cleaned up and refitted asap. Several other bad reviews appear on other sites, so why are the owners NOT taking notice. Wont recommend or return until major changes put in place.
Very Disappointing! This was the second time I went to Elevation Cafe ...the first time we waited 40 minutes to get served and ended up walking out - the staff where just sat at the bar laughing and joking and the restaurant was only a little busy . I thought I would give it another go again and was really disappointed ... first of all the menu was very different to what if offered on their website . One of the items we order was ribs - to start we ordered the highly advertised ribs.Three measly ribs arrived ...we we bit into them and discovered that they where not ribs at all but re constituted rib-lets! at an entrée cost of $17.50 A COMPLETE RIP OFF!! The fish and chips also very poor ...fish tasted like it had been re-deep fried 2 or three times and the chips the same . WILL NOT BE VISITING A THIRD TIME AND SUGGEST NO ONE ELSE DOES EITHER!!!
We have been to Elevation Cafe & Restaurant a few years ago and loved the setting and had a great time so thought we'd give it another go. Arrived this time having booked, to find our table was not even set, having to wait for them to find us some chairs. We ordered two entrees, which came one at a time. Then the staff brought out our main while we were still eating our entrees. Having finished the mains we asked the waitress for the dessert menu only to be told the kitchen was closed!!!! Unbelievable. We hurriedly finished and left, complaining to a very disinterested maitre D. To their credit the food was ok, but service inexcusable. The amazing view is pretty much where it stops. Won't be going back to Elevation.
It is important, especially if you have booked, to be seated immediately. Much to our disappointment the person in charge of processing the bills after the meal was the same person inviting guests to their tables. After waiting for two groups of people to pay for their meal, the group that came in before us were seated, and then us. I was told on the phone that yes, they had reserved a table by the window for us. Unfortunately we were put at a table in the middle somewhere and we both had to sit on the same side of the table to awkwardly glance over the people shoulders by the window to get a good view of the fireworks. The atmosphere was cute, although a tad cold but once we started eating and drinking it was fine. I ordered pork and partner had the eye fillet. After specifying medium rare my partners steak was well done. My pork was so dry and overcooked I had to drown it in the remnants of watery sauce to get any flavour out of it. We guessed the meat had been sitting for too long before being served. All this aside we were asked a few times if everything was OK. Bill time, and we were waiting yet again at the counter. The waiter couldn't find out order on the computer, or remember what table we were at. It's a shame that the food wasn't great and service could of been a lot better, or we would be back again. Elevation Cafe has potential to be great, but for a total bill cost of $110, we expected much more.
Was hesitant to try Elevation Cafe & Restaurant ... but WOW!! WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED. We arrived just after 6 and were greeted warmly, a lovely autumn evening we were given the option if sitting outside which we did as the view was stunning. The waiter a (young salamlian man) was excellent right from begginig to end we tipped him he was so good, the food was absolutley delicious everything perfectly cooked and arrived in no time. We will be going back as we throughly enjoyed our experince here.i highly reccomend anyone to give this place a try it is worth the beautiful drive. If you are going to sit outside take a jumper its definatly worth it.
Went today with my wife, a friend, his fiancee and her grandchildren, for lunch.
We have been before, several years ago, and enjoyed the view, however today it was raining and cloudy so could not see the cityscape.
The menu was great with a good selection, food was promptly prepared and served, tasted great, with a fresh dessert to follow. Prices were reasonable, especially for the selection available and the quality of food served.
Staff were courteous, efficient, and helpful with all aspects of the meal.
Learnt about the 'open microphone' singing evenings, which my wife wants to go to, and other events which will be of interest.
I'm from out of town and the friend who I was staying with suggested a trip out west for a bit of a walk and a bite to eat. She'd heard good things about Elevation Cafe so we decided to give it a go - and jeez, we were happy that we did! A great setting, friendly staff and good food/coffee...Elevation is well worth the trip out!
I was back again this time for Valentines day and again Elevation did not disappoint. The Staff were friendly and service was snappy. Entree of scallops was cooked to perfection and steak was cooked just the way I like it. Coupled with the views and reasonable price it's a hard place to beat.
