really like Dominion - went there with my hubby before he dragged me off to the rugby last night at Eden Park. Good setting and well priced drinks - more a sophisticated sports bar than an intimate cocktail bar but certainly Dominion is one of the better bars in the Mt Eden area.
I found myself in auckland on a stop over, i was staying in Mt Eden, when i asked a staff member where i could find a good value pub/restaurant the young lady did not hesitate to recommend your venue, and i was not disappointed, friendly staff, great food and the manager/owner was very attentive, i to will have no hesitation in recommending the Dominion
thank you all very much for a great first time auckland experience
A great pub with a fantastic atmosphere, a menu that will surprise you with how excellent it is and nice, friendly staff.
In terms of a dining experience it leaves a bit to be desired, was a heap lot better when it was GPK...that said, as a bar it's pretty good.. if a little on the expensive...food is still ok... but as always when a brewery takes over a restaurant the food becomes secondary to the booze
Great place to stop for a drink before the All Blacks at Eden Park, a bit busy when we went back but still a great sport that is handy to both the park and home!
Caught up with the girls at Dominion last night and have to say, really liked the experience. Staff were affable and the surroundings were really pleasant - really good for small groups where you don't have to shout at the top of your lungs to get heard! I'll be back to Dominion for sure!
Dominion is a great place with friendly staff, special mention to Ozae our waiter for the night. Food was great and the $10 specials on pasta dishes was a winner when it came to bill time, we even endulged on the best fluffiest chocolate mousse. We will definately be back for more....
It was a dark and stormy night... and we were well cosy in front of the fire, with a bottle of Red at Dominion's Bar. Too many big screens showing rugby for my liking but still, plenty of comfy seating and really nice soft lighting, making everyone look exceptionally attractive. We moved through to the Restaurant and on this wintry Thursday night had our choice of tables. The most divine Prawn Risotto for me and Lamb rump on roasted garlic and vegs for him - which he pronounced sensational. No entrees or dessert so can't comment on all areas, but what we did taste was most excellent. Service was great, and the price was fine. Not enough other diners to create any atmosphere but it did mean we could hear each other's pearls of conversational wisdom. We will certainly be back.
