For one reason or another, I'd always felt Dizengoff Cafe was one of the more pretentious cafe's along Auckland's Ponsonby strip and hence the reluctance to go there often.
It appears my initial impressions are now so far off the mark. Dizengoff's staff are charming and downright jovial - fantastic!
What's more impressive about this Ponsonby institution is it's counter food - lovely fresh rolls, perfectly moreish macarons and perfect coffee - well done Dizengoff, you could teach other Ponsonby venues a thing or two!

Walking through Ponsonby I decided to stop in after seeing so many people sitting outside eating delicious looking breakfasts!
And it was worth it. I had a delicious breakfast of mushrooms, tomatoes, thick toast and poached eggs washed down with a latte!
Nice work Dizengoff - no wonder the place was full up at 9am on a Tuesday

Just love, love, love this place. Home smoked salmon is my favourite. One of the best coffees in Auckland

Hadn't been to Dizengoff for about 6 months and am pleased to say it's still as good as ever.

I had nearly lost hope of finding a decent coffee - how hard can it be to make a good cup when you do it all day every day?

Anyway, Dizengoff once again came through with the goods, and even though it's not my local, I will make more of an effort to get there more often.
