Disappointed! I had to pay $30 for my tagliatelle to find it arrived without the porcini or leek that was supposed to be in it. Instead it had ordinary mushrooms and some unannounced parsley. Menu misrepresentation. My husband's pasta was entree sized compared with the same dish delivered to the diner next door. Delicious used to be my favourite Italian restaurant in Auckland. No longer.

At the recommendation of one of my colleagues we went to Delicious in Grey Lynn tonight for dinner. This is a trattoria-style Italian eatery that has a great vibe, good service and excellent food.

They don’t take bookings, but upon arrival there was one table for two that was available. The restaurant was busy throughout our meal and for those that came in when tables weren’t available they did not seem to have to wait for long.

We started with two pieces of Brushetta, one with vine ripened tomatoes and another with pesto, pine-nuts and artichoke. Both were lovely, although we did feel that this was a bit overpriced.

I then followed this with an excellent Zucchini & Provolone Ravioli that had a lovely lemon and sage butter sauce. Jane also had a lovely dish, the Gnocchi with Porcini mushrooms, tomato, parsley & parmesan.

For dessert I had the Tiramisu and this was deliciously light and flavoursome.

We will happily return.

Delicious...what a delight!!! I was recently introduced to this delightful restaurant by a friend. We were advised to arrive early as you cannot book. So here we were 6.30pm and downstairs was almost full already. But that was a blessing as we were the first guests of the evening to be seated upstairs. Fantastic location. We were delighted already...and we hadn't even tried the food yet.

Our waiter was pleasant, fun, knowledgeable and as a result created a great atmosphere.

Then the food!!! Wow...I have never tasted such amazing pasta! I will definitely come back here again.

Overall the whole evening was a delight and a success!!! I have raved to many friends since :-)

Delicious is fabulous, it strives for perfection and always delivers. Whenever I feel like a nice dinner out, this fine extablishment is the first to spring to mind and it has yet to dissapoint.Their handmade pastas are to die for, they are silky smooth and the combinations of flavours are exquisite. The desserts are legendary, the tiramisu flys out the door. My advice would be to scan the desserts when you arrive and reserve yourself a piece of whatever tickles your fancy, so that you don't miss out!Most definitely the best Italian resturant in Auckland and quite possibly the best in New Zealand - you will not be dissapointed!!

Last week, on my birthday in fact, we called to book at Delicious. We were slightly alarmed when we could not book but that was me being a worry wort.

Initially the menu seemed limited and our daughter could not see anything that she liked so we asked whether we could have a pasta and tomato dish. Absolutely!

I ordered the pasta and squid ink and my wife the ravioli.

The food was sublime. Italian food is my choice if pushed and we have explored most Italian restaurants in Auckland and must say that this is one of the best if not the best.

The service was extremely efficient being there when you needed them but not in your pocket when you don't.

We would recommend this to anyone who likes good food especially Italian.

I read the other reviews on here with amazement, but I think they may be quite old. Have been to Delicious twice in the past month and both times experienced wonderful service which combined with their incredibly delicious pastas add up to make them a Five in my opinion.
From the efficient Maitre-d, to the intelligent and humourous barman, then to our bubbly friendly blonde waitress, everyone we encountered gave us perfect service.
Can certainly see why this place is packed out every night of the week.
Plus we had a wheat free person at our table (not ideal at a pasta restaurant) and the waitress just went so far out of her way to ensure that her needs were met. Very impressed with the place! It is my new favourite.

Attempted to eat here this evening for what would have been my second visit.

We were given the choice of two tables: one where two occupants were blinded by the setting sun; the other upstairs near a bunch of kids - neither were desirable and the maitre'd told us we couldn't sit at a table for five (good location) and pushing two smaller tables together simply wasn't an option because it was restaurant "policy" and "rules" to forbid such action. She was rude, condescending and had no respect for her patrons.

The food at Delicious may be good, but the menu is limited and the restaurant's favourable reputation has gone to its head. I won't bother returning.

I have eaten at Delicious many times and not once have I been disappointed! I have read the 3 comments below and I couldn't believe what was written. They must have been rude to receive such service. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The food is always delicious, the tiramisu is to die for! I recommend this restaurant and I assure you, you won't be disappointed.
