Dinner & a show! You will alwyas be entertained when you eat at Daikoku Takapuna, took some first timers with me & they loved it, before heading off to Bruce Mason Centre!
A great place for a quick & entertaining but more importantly a very tasty meal!

My family and I love this place, we have been regular patrons here for about 10 years. It has had it's ups and downs, with staff and attitude, forgetful staff, but I suppose that's to be expected, especially when the place is constantly packed out.
We've introduced Daikoku to friends of ours, who love the place also.
We usually come as a big group, we always have a great time.
My absolute favourite is the prawns with yumyum sauce, if I had the chance I would only eat this, it melts in your mouth. Mmmm yum, just thinking about it.
Try this place out fir yourselves, it's a wonderful experience!

Daikoku is our favourite family restaurant. We frequent it for special occasions - as price wise it is rather steep.

The food is divine, and what you see is what you get. You know it is fresh and exactly what is in it, with it being cooked right in front of you. The Chefs are awesome (there is one in particular our family loves) and are entertaining. The waiting staff are attentive.

We never leave hungry and are always fulfilled when we walk out the door from Daikoku.

Not a bad meal out. The food is a bit oily and some of the tricks a bit old and a little worn but still enjoyable none the less. Food is a little plain but still enjoyable. Plenty to eat so you always go home full. Staff vary on politeness but none are rude or anything. Some seem a little tired and are only human (Some critics need to remember that!).

Staff were quick with the correct drinks and really on to it with clearing the plates. Orders were collected promptly and chef was entertaining, smiling, making jokes and pleasant the hole time.

The place is a little tired looking (could do with a little touch up but nothing to major) but still has a pleasant atmosphere!

I suggest some people do a little research before criticizing the 'mayonnaise' which is actually yum-yum sauce! Good one people!

Dinner and a show! The guys who cook here have an amazing sense of humor and put on a great show while cooking your food in front of you.An amazing meal but quite expensive. What you pay is what you get and paying that bit extra was well worth it!

We always have a good time at Daikoku, our 4 year old loves the entertainment factor, and they offer a kids menu cooked at the table which is perfect for him. The yum yum sauce is great and more is always available on request! I'd recommend this restaurant for fun casual dining.

Tried to book this resturant - the manager said no highchairs can be booked( first come first served)and then hinted we don't like kids even though its advertised as a family resturant. He was also insulting and rude on the telephone. We then booked at the Quay street resturant which had a total different attitude and we were most welcome. TAKAPUNA RESAURANT CHANGE THE MANAGEMENT.
