Daikoku is the American BENIHANA type of venue. Your food is cooked right in front of you with Teppanyaki chef's performance. The portion size is a bit small even for Japanese people so my satisfcation was lower than I expected for what I spent.

Ever juggled? Ever seen food juggled?

Daikoku's in Quay Street (Takapuna and Botany Downs) is a culinary circus delight.

The Japanese food is not only a tasty treat to tempt most people but its also cooked in an entertaining way. Each table seats about 8 people and comes complete with a hotplate and the tables own personal chef who has perfected the art of juggling the food whilst cooking it.

Be careful as there is an interactive part of the cooking show!

Yummy food! Love how they cook it right in front of you, its very interesting to watch. The atmosphere of the place was great, the only thing that put me off was the business men in the corner trying to get frisky with tha Geisha waitresses. But that wouldnt put me off going back again. Definately worth it!
