Loved everything about this place, from the greeting and cocktail the moment I walked in, until the very last spoonful of the desert.

The food service wasn't the quickest, but I'll compromise on speed over quality any time...

It seems very apt to have the red carpet rolled out for me on my Birthday and it was at Cibo.

I booked to go with 9 friends and was seated in the busy courtyard on this balmy evening. From the moment we walked in we got great service. The waiters were very friendly and had a sense of humour and always there replenishing our wine glasses. I don’t think I would have noticed if they hadn’t been as I was quickly intoxicated from all the wine with the complimentary glass of bubbles they gave me for my birthday and finished with the trio of dessert wines.

For my entrée I had the Roasted duck popiah with Atlantic scallop (plural), it was very tasty and well presented. My friend who skipped the entrée in favour of the dessert was given a complimentary Gazpacho, apparently so she didn’t feel she was missing out. For my main I had the Roasted Hapuka and slipper lobster with congee rice which had Thai flavours. I thought it was cooked well, presentation couldn’t be great for this bowl of thick soupy consistency. I envied the look of the Angus and the Lamb.

To finish I had the Coconut and Lime Cheesecake with gingernut ice cream, roasted pineapple and meringue. Two Waiters came out singing Happy Birthday to me with a candle presented in the cheesecake and greeting painted in Chocolate sauce on my plate.

There was another Birthday there which seemed to get the same treatment so it’s a great place to go for your Birthday and know you’ll get acknowledged.

I would most certainly go back again.

They roll out the red carpet at Cibo and that’s no lie. I felt like I was going to the Oscars when I walked in.I booked to go with work colleagues and the board, 19 of us in total and no number was too great for this well oiled team. From the moment we walked in and our coats were taken and our glasses were filled till we left, we had the best service I have probably ever experienced. The waiters were very friendly and had a sense of humour and always there replenishing our wine glasses and water too.I’ve always wanted to come to Cibo and finally got my chance and best thing was I didn’t have to pay. The wine list was extensive and I enjoyed the Pallisar Sauv and then a Pinot Gris that I can’t remember the name of, but it was really good. We were treated to a great 3 course meal. To start I chose the Coromandel scallops which were delicious and then Gameford duck leg, honey glazed duck breast, fennel confit, pickled mandarin salad with golden raisin puree which was AMAZING. I loved the different cuts of duck. However my only negative was that the artichoke was considerably ‘under’ cooked. To finish we had shared platters of all of the following which all were very good and cute in their small bite size portions. Baklava, Red velvet cupcakes, cinnamon donuts with chocolate dipping sauce which reminded me of Churro’s, chocolate brownie and the best bit – Lemon Meringue tarts.I would most certainly go back with my friends.

Well I can see why Cibo were named 2012 Metro Audi Smart Dining Restaurant of the Year!

We went for a corporate lunch and it was spectacular from beginning to end. The Maître d' was a pleasure - the complimentary glass of bubbles an especially nice touch! And the wine list was delightfully comprehensive.

Each of the 5 at our table raved about both their entrees and mains (duck and caramelised scallops, oh my!), and dessert did not disappoint either. I highly recommend the Parisian love cake - a perfectly balanced dessert; pistachio sabayon is my new favourite thing.

I'll be back to Cibo!

Simply outstanding. I'd consider myself to be a regular (once every 2 months or so) of Cibo and in all the years I've been dining here, I have yet to leave disappointed.
Great to see Cibo get an award in this year's Metro Restaurant of the Year awards - it seems I'm not the only one that thinks so highly of Cibo.

We attended a wedding function at Cibo and we absolutely loved the venue. The waiters were excellent at their job, attentive to everyone and also they all had a great sense of humour, often joining in with our laughter. The food was an experience that we all thoroughly enjoyed. I wouldn't hesitate to return to Cibo's for a meal. Top marks to everyone.

A lovely night out.
Good design, great presentation, attentive and thorough staff with attention to detail and good food to boot!
The only thing slightly lacking at Cibo Parnell was the music which was oddly chosen and then occasionally too loud. However, this didn't distract us from our overall decision that this had been our best night out in Auckland to date.

I took my husband to Cibo Parnell for a special birthday meal as I had been before for a lunch with girlfriends. My hubby isn't in to flashy fussy places and I was a bit hesitant that he would like it. The end result, he absolutely LOVED it!

Great service with very professional waiting staff who do their job well, but also know how to have a laugh with their customers. Also, very informed on the menu as it is hard to decide what to order when they all look so good. The food - gorgeous and portion sizes just right.

Nice outlook from the restaurant into the courtyard outside and parking isn't a problem at all.
