My Mrs and I dropped in to Catroux Cafe the other day after she'd been earlier in the week as she was keen for me to appreciate it too, and that I did.. Great coffee, and nice mini salmon ciabattas for brekkie. We'll be going back for lunch or a sit in breakfast next time, as the menu looked just the ticket.
We also love the Catroux Cafe's coffee card system - if you're like me and have a wallet full of them - they have the solution!
I was really disappointed with Catroux Cafe! The interior was nice, and the menu had a promising breakfast selection but the coffee was terrible! Unfortunately my daughter also complained about the hot chocolate she ordered. From now on I will be sticking with Meola Kitchen and I recommend others to do the same!
I echo much of what other reviewers have written. The counter food was excellent with the stand outs being the lamb shank pie & very decadent white chocolate covered carrot cake.
The only reason this isn't a 5 is the coffee ..... I was really excited to see Peoples - a coffee I miss from living in Welly. What was served up was a poor immitation I bearly touched my flat white, whilst my partner discarded the whole long black, bar one totally insipid sip.
this place has changed hands quite a bit over the last few years but really hope Catroux Cafe hangs around a whole lot longer. The lemon-curd cakes are really awesome, and coupled with a People's Coffee, just about the perfect meal! Well done Catroux and good luck!
Great new café on Westend Road…
Westmere needed something new and Catroux is the perfect place. Great breakfast menu, amazingly delicious salads, and a sandpit & black board out the back for the kids!
Highly recommend the eggs benny – something about the rosti they come on, rather than toast or a muffin really makes the dish.
Go, eat, drink (great coffee), enjoy - Catrouz Cafe is superb
Called into catroux cafe yesterday on the way back from the zoo. It's in the same venue where Adelie used to be on Westend Road.
Fresh, stark white interior greets you - and very welcoming staff.
Good coffee (at this stage was much needed) - will pay a return visit to catroux this time without kids in tow!
