My favourite Turkish Restaurant in Auckland - Casablanca. Worth the drive to Orewa.

I have gone to Orewa they have run out of the chicken skewers with mash and so I have never got to eat this. I fell in love with the flavours having a taste of my friends plate, who was lucky enough to have ordered the last portion before the waitress got round to me. The same thing happened the next time I dined here. So I ordered the meatballs, which were blimmin tasty and the portion large, but any sign of roast potatoes that were on the menu as coming with it and I was looking forward to were virtually void on my plate.

Then we come to dessert – the chocolate caramel cake is a huge piece that you can’t finish and the pear cheesecake was just perfect. Don’t forget to have an apple tea which is very cleansing and very customary at a Mediterranean joint.
The service here is friendly and great. The wine selection good including the Rioja I had was yummy. I will be back here to get that damn chicken dish if it kills me.

What a great place to eat at. After a nice soak at Waiwera, it was 8pm and we decided on Mediterranean. The service here is tentative, the atmosphere bustling and the food amazing no matter what you have. I have been once before and loved it so took my friends back.

I had the Meze platter with a side of grilled halloumi cheese. It was plenty for two to share and very tasty. I did have fomo for my friends Moroccan Lamb Tangine and my other friends Skewered chicken with spicy harissa and potato mash. The Tangine was punchy and the chicken juicy and the mash creamy and tasty. I’ll be going back and having one of those dishes.

It’s worth the drive up. One friend happens to be shifting up to Whangaparoa so I can see we will be joining her for dinner here again regularly.
