Not only does this café offer an authentic train carriage, spacious outdoor seating with all weather protection, you can also watch the ducks in the adjacent stream.

The food is great, reasonably priced and the salads definitely fill an empty tummy. Thai Beef a favourite - if you are inclined to a light dressing, best to ask the kitchen for half serve. Would also recommend the pork ribs – fall of the bone delicious!

Staff friendly and definitely child friendly – Carriages Café consistently delivers.

I've been here twice and I will definitely go here again, not just because it is local but because the food is amazing, the setting is lovely and the staff are always great to deal with.

Part of the cafe is an old train, it is done up nicely and you can go and sit inside it to eat. If you go here don't leave without trying the chocolate mudcake! They make an awesome chai latte and they have heaps on the menu to chose from. Price is reasonable and the entrance is through a pretty plant shop which adds a nice touch!

Great for brunch or lunch, meals are on the larger side, we couldn't finish ours. Great services with friendly staff and nice sitting outside under the umbrellas.

Very nice at Carriages Cafe - you can even have a glass of wine with your lunch. Entrance through the garden centre, this place is busy in summer. Nice to sit outside under the umbrellas or inside the old train carriage.

Carriages Cafe in Kumeu, Auckland, is a very nice cafe attached to a garden centre. There is an excellent selection of food and the cakes are yummy. At Carriages Cafe, you can either sit outside and enjoy the view or if you fancy something different you can sit in the old train carriage. I'd recommend Carriages for lunch or brunch.
