Beautiful Italian food - place was packed on a Wednesday night, which is a good sign too!
Really recommend Botticelli - last time I was there was over 10 years ago - but I will definitely be returning sooner - good service, prompt and great food!

If you are looking for aunthentic Italian food on the northshore then don't go passed Botticelli's in Anzac Street, Takapuna. This is a treat for the taste buds! A small, intimate restaurant, perfect for a romantic meal.

This is my favourite restaurant. I love the noisy buzzy atmosphere. You are made welcome from the time you arrive. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic and real value for money. I love Botticelli Italian Restaurant as a place to have a quick meal before the movies or a long leisurely dinner. Just as much fun if you are just a couple or in a group.

We ate at Botticelli on Friday night - luckily snapped up the last table for two before the 7.30pm rush.

Ambience is nice, not too flashy but candle-lit (so suitable for a date) and also bustling.

We had the calamari and garlic pizza bread for starters, both of which were very edible.

For the main I had a chicken and capsicum penne pasta. This was edible, but I suspect the sauce is prepared in bulk much earlier as the capsicum was overcooked almost to the point of disintegration. The quality of the chicken was sub standard (bits of gristle and fat here and there) and overall it was just bland. I could make a better dish at home.

My partner had the steak with bacon and mushroom sauce. This was a decent sized serving, a touch under cooked (more rare than med-rare) but this is far more preferable than over cooked (which is what I normally encounter).

All in all a nice experience but I wouldn't rave about the quality of the food - it's disappointing when you pay $18 + for something you feel you could make better yourself.

From the moment you walk through the door you are greeted with top notch service. The ambience is devine and the delicious smells that permeate the restaurant are enough to entice any appetite. Excellent menu with a good variety of choices for even the trickiest of diners. Food was served quickly and beautifully presented. We were very happy with our meal and would definately return again.

I been in this restaurant many times and always happy to came back there and a lots of times they don't have many tables left but they always have one for us.

Botticelli has a romantic atmosphere and I always enjoy my meal. It's definitely one of my favourite places to dine. I would recommend it to anyone!

Six of us dined at Botticelli Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria in Takapuna on Saturday, 3rd Feb 2007. The service was very good; the food and presentation was excellent and reasonably priced. We have been before and will certainly visit again soon.

I was not impressed with anything about this restaurant. I experienced the worse service from the two bitter waitresses that work at Botticelli Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria. I was served a dirty glass and I had to beg for water.


The food had no distinct flavour and the prices were too high for the portions they served. I suggest that people try a restaurant where they at least appreciate your business!!

I almost don't want to share the fact that Botticelli's is the best thing to have ever happened to Takapuna - because it's already hard enough to get a table there. But they deserve the accolades.


We have been dining at Botticelli Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria for almost five years and the food is consistantly wonderful. The chef never has a bad day and we dine there at least every couple of months.


A good Italian restaurant gets the basics right - their pizza bread is to die for, as is their tiramisu. We highly recommend the Veal Masala - it just melts in your mouth.

I frequently dine at Botticelli Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria and always enjoy the experience. The meals are always exceptional and are good value for money as the portions are huge. The pizza breads for starters are amazing; the bread base is so fluffy and light and the olive oil is delicous. The only gripe about this restaurant is it is quite small and noisy, but that's because it so popular which definitely says something about their food.

Bottecelli has a great atomsphere. It is cosy inside, but not cramped. The food is absolutely stunning and the staff are unobtrusive. Not often in Auckland do you get to eat your meal without the staff hanging over your shoulder asking how everything is. It was the perfect place to have a birthday dinner.
