Blunderbuss in Takapuna has a very open and relaxed environment. I hear it gets very busy on the weekends but the two times that I visited were on weekday evenings. The restaurant was fairly quiet on my visit.

The thing which I like about Blunderbuss is their pizzas. That and the sangria are probaby the only two things I'd go for. The small plates generally did not impress. On the scheme of things, the portions are probably a little bit on the petite side, so you'd have to order a few things to fill up. I recommend about one pizza per person (that's if you have an average sized appetite).

I have no complaints about service. It was neither fantastic nor bad. I'd class it as 'friendly enough'.

Some gripes and loves:
- More fruit in my sangria, please! Tastes awesome but where's the fruit??
- That manuka honey pizza base.. Delish! Who knew..

3 stars as I neither love or dislike this place. Okay, maybe an extra 0.5 for the pizza and sangria.

I Have been to Blunderbuss on a number of occasions (in fact on a weekly basis since it opened) the food and atmosphere are phenomenal, the staff equally so. I Love the place so much that on Friday 13 September I held a function there with 20 people. We were very well looked after despite the place being packed and everyone in my party raved about how good a night it was. SO a huge thank you Blunderbuss crew, you made my Night. Will see you guys this week sometime

We took our 2 kids to Blunderbuss Takapuna for an early dinner. The decor is nice and it caters well fro children with colouring in and a kids menu. Service was good, drinks well-priced and food came out quickly. We had the halloumi, calamari, meatballs, fries and fish tapas, and a kids pizza as well as the lamb pizza. The lamb pizza and calamari were good but the rest was average. overall Blunderbuss was good for families but next time we will stick to pizza.

Top class service here, the staff were so pleasant. The place was full and buzzing when we visited on Friday. We were seated by the manager who explained the menu and gave us a taste of all the sangria's. We loved them probably some of the nicest sangria we have tried. Our waitress was a delight, and the food was outstanding. Finished the night off with what I believe to be the best desert I have ever had. Blunderbuss you have a new fan!

big fan of the thin crust pizza they serve at Blunderbuss - nothing worse than mouthfuls of dough. We've been to Blunderbuss twice now - first to their Kingsland venue before the All Blacks and more recently to the new Takapuna location. The Takapuna venue is small but don't let that detract from the top notch pizza...less oily than Sal's. Our favourite - the Anatra - duck, fig and and onion jam = delicious!
