Thoroughly enjoyed the whitebait omelet as we sat at the waters edge table at Bill Fish Cafe today. Great location, delicious food.
Mother's Day lunch - little bottle of bubbly for each mother was a special touch. Food great (not cheap), setting stunning and staff all very pleasant but they definitely have to get their act together and work efficiently as a team. Very slow service, wrong orders and incorrect billing - twice. Would hope they take note as these complaints have apparently been said before. We'll give it another try in time.
Our party of six were the only mid week dinner guests and we will not return. The poor waiting service, a drunk and very agressive owner made this a a venue to avoid.
Well... 5 visits in 2 weeks says it all - love the place, love the food - Have a bottle of Latitude 41 Pinot Gris with your meal and you will not go wrong - spend and hour or spend a day... great place to chill out and enjoy the sun while dreaming of sailing away on one of the nearby charter boats or luxury launches. PAY and DISPLAY though or the towies will have your car before you can blink!!!!
Great little find of a restaurant. Succulent fresh fish in a lovely light batter. Beautiful fresh prawns & oysters too. Great view out to the marina and harbour bridge. Owner/manager was attentive and friendly, however a couple of his staff were a little surly, but over all it was a lovely place to have a chilled Sunday lunch overlooking the water, live music too.
Absolutely agree with the ViewAuckland review- the battered fish melted in my mouth. A squeeze of lemon and it was one of the tastiest meals i have encountered. Beautiful view of the water too.
