It's reputation had preceded it so I was full of expectation and was not disappointed. A friend of mine raves about the Butter Chicken Pie -so I went to Browns Bay shops especially to try it. What can I say? It was packed with real chicken and thick flavoursome sauce. No wonder it has a gold medal.
Bernies Bakery & Cafe is always winning gold medals for his pies and the same pies are in this cafe. This is a small bakery cum cafe opening onto the main street in Browns Bay; not a lot of atmosphere, but good food and coffee, ideal for that lunch break. It's always busy and that's a good sign for Browns Bay people, who can be a bit 'uppittty' about some things. I enjoy Bernies for a quick coffee break and lots of others do likewise.
