Barcelona, the new addition to Kingsland. The décor is ok but not so much Spanish like I thought I would find. Our table a little close to the toilet and kitchen but I guess they made good use of the small space.
Jordi Donadeu the Chef of Barcelona produced some great plates of food for our table which covered the menu well. The owner looked after us, it was great to speak a little Spanish with him and hear about his restaurant and some help with our choices.

We started with tomato bread, Iberico ham and manchego cheese, potato bravas, deep-fried calamari chicken and vegetarian croquetta’s. All very tasty.
Of course if your eating Spanish you have to have a Spanish red so I ordered some Rioja which I could have kept drinking. Of course the natural main course was the Arròs cremós, Barcelona style seafood paella. Authentic and generous in my opinion.

For dessert the Crema Catalana was great, just like a crème brulee. Deep-fried churros with a runny chocolate dipping sauce good too.
On Tuesdays they have a Spanish lesson night which I am looking forward to participating in, or is it just so I can partake in some more Spanish treats.
