I only stopped into Arthur Avenue for a wine, but the atmosphere was nice and the staff (only one guy since it was a quiet night) was friendly and attentive. Hope to go back for a meal one day.
Arthur Avenue was a complete disappointment.
We wanted to order pizza and they were sold out, yes, sold out of all pizza. The waiter said they had been really busy (not our problem) and thus the pizza was finished but they had everything else on the menu. Please note I am not referring to a particular pizza, all their pizza was finished. Then the dish I ordered immediately after was also not available. Funnily enough all they had was expensive main dishes.
I settled for a Caesar salad and even though it was just my family and another couple in the restaurant, it took 17 minutes to be served. It was the worse Caesar salad I have ever had.
Very disappointing, especially since it was meant to be a Mother's Day treat.
Was looking for a cafe just for a drink so popped into Arthur Avenue. We were so tempted by the menu that we ordered a wee nibble. Fantastic atmosphere, food and staff. Just a wee note on the ice chocolate I have had this from a few cafes lately when making an ice chocolate don't make a hot chocolate with ice and cream on top. A ice chocolate should have ice cream and chocolate sauce and a nice wee dollop of cream. But everything else was great.
Food was overpriced and really below average. We ordered the Sangria Jug ($40) which was actually 'country red' cask wine mixed with Fanta (no kidding - I promise!) we saw this process so cancelled the Sangria. Pizza was okay, the calamari tapas and chips were also okay, but overall Arthur Avenue was embarrassingly bad.
Had a few tapas and drinks at Arthur Avenue before heading to the Kinglander to watch the footy.
Good spot and staff nice and laid back - always appreciate staff who are prepared to have a friendly yarn with punters! Next time the Blues are in town I'll be bringing a troupe to Arthur Avenue beforehand for sure.
Hadn't heard that Tabou had closed so turned up mid week to find Arthur Avenue in its place.
Thought we'd give is a go in any case as had spent quite some time both getting there and finding a park.
I had the tagine (chicken and apricots) for my main - nice but at $27 fairly pricey for this sort of dish.
My partner had the greek meatballs which by all accounts were good.
The deserts are pretty good to - try the Baklava! Overall good dining experience had at Arthur Avenue
