Annabelles is a nice setting with great views of the water and a Italian décor feel. We bought a voucher deal – 3 courses for $34.50 and we had full choice of the ala carte menu. I chose Calamari with Lime & Corinader mayonaise. It was a nicely cooked calamari and I'm happy it wasn't coated in crumbs. It took about 15mins for our orders to be taken and the time between the entree and main was HUGE, even though the restaurant was only half full. And we had to keep asking for water. I think whilst the waiter was a lovely guy the service was extremely slow and lacking. For mains I had Pork Belly with scallops on a kumara mash with bok choy and apple sauce and crispy crackling. Whilst the pork was cooked well and the crackling nice and crispy the scallops were missing something and there was too much mash and not enough sauce. I was half way through and I found it quite gluggy and dry. The eye fillet my friends had on the other hand had plenty of sauce. As they say on MKR & Masterchef – “more sauce”.For dessert we all covered the menu, I had the Baileys and chocolate cheesecake which was ok.If I knew there service was somewhat better I would go back and ask for more sauce.

Cheating and deceiving. That's what this restaurant's all about now. They recently ran a $69 Groupon deal (2 entrees, 2 mains and 2 desserts for two people). Since we've been to Annabelle's before, we thought we'd buy a voucher.

Upon making the booking, they kept on asking if there's a voucher involved. Why's it so important? It makes people skeptical. Would they reduce the quality if they know it's a deal-purchased voucher?

Anyway, when we got there, again- they kept on asking if we have vouchers & that they need to see it. I gave it to them- big mistake. No smiles anymore. We ordered - Entrees: tempura prawns & panko-crumbed scallops. Mains: seafood platter & lamb rack. Dessert: apple shortbread.

The tempura prawns were 3 small pieces on about 5 leaves of limp rocket- obviously prawns from a frozen packet. The scallops- 3 pieces on limp rocket. The "seafood" platter I wouldn't even pay $15 for. It was disgusting- 2 pieces of thin prawns, 3 mussels, 2 sub-quality scallops, a few chopped up calamari which are so tasteless, & literally 2 very thin smoked salmon smaller than the ones that go on top of a nigiri sushi. That's for a main that would normally cost almost $40. The lamb rack was miserable. The dessert was half the size of what they would normally serve, it also tasted so poorly.

The big group next to us ordered stuff similar to ours, but it is obvious that they don't have a voucher. What they were served look like a very much upgraded version of what we were served.

Basically, Annabelles cut corners just coz they grudgingly offered a deal. We mentioned this & the staff adamantly denied so. A real disappointment coz the whole purpose of offering a deal is to draw in customers. If they give good service & good food, people will return. We wouldn’t mind paying for things at full price as long as they're genuinely good, but we were let down. They shouldn't offer deals if they're not going to offer the same quality of stuff. We are not going b

Not a pleasant dining experience, and not dissimilar to a production line. We were rushed through our courses (they arrived in unbelievably quick time, as though already prepared and waiting for the microwave - now there's a thought!). Nothing special about the dishes at Annabelles Restaurant, if anything they were over-cooked and the S&P Calamari was particularly bland. Service was over-attentive, with our glasses never getting below one third empty. Whilst a beach side restaurant Annabelles Restaurant prices are still around the CBD level. So I do not expect to be greeted as "mate" and "you guys". James.

Nice cosy restaurant for dinner. Service was good - we were greeted and seat promptly. But were seated at a table with a pole right next to a table with a pole right next to it which was quite obstructive. Nevertheless, the waitress was knowledge about the wine and recommended what would be a good match with our food – we ended up ordering a bottle. Food was served in good time, decent sized portions, good food, nothing outstanding but nothing to really complain about either. Ambience was nice, Annabelles Restaurant is a good place to go to in the winter.

Dined at Annabelles Restaurant with husband and brother - took some time to get menus - then was asked if wanted breads - decided on bread & dips - waited 10 mins, asked again did want breads - and finally garlic bread was plonked down! Waiter surly and hard to get to take orders etc. Wine by the glass had dregs of bottle in the bottom - and was told yes that was usual. Vegetables were barely cooked, and steak very well done, not medium. After listening to the waiter demanding to be able to go home and owner reprimanding him, we left. Not a good experience.
