I have been to Andiamo Restaurant & Bar only twice, I wish I could go there again and again and again. Both times food and wines were perfect. Relaxed and romantic atmosphere, especially at the table by the fireplace makes Andiamo the place to go on a wintry night although I am sure it is great all year round. Looking forward to dining at Andiamo Restaurant again.
This place is great. The confit duck in cassoulet is terrific and could have come straight out the Dordoigne. There's a nice low key feel to it and their wine list is really well chosen. We took a group of six their last week and everyone loved it. Look forward to coming back.
Yes, an excellent restaurant but slipped badly last night 20th November. The waiter asked if everthing was fine and I said no, the scallops are not fresh. A few minutes later he returns and tells me the Chef said they were fresh yesterday. Wow, maybe I should come back yesterday! Very poor response. Maybe because it was on a Monday night and they wanted to go home. But this should not reflect badly on an otherwise excellent restaurant. The other dishes in our group were fine.
An excellent meal at Andiamo Restaurant & Bar with superb service. Oysters to start were excellent with pickled ginger and mushroom on the side adding extra zing. The scallop starter was also great when I stole some form my dining companion.
Mains were generously sized with excellent flavour combinations; the special of snapper, whitebait wonton, polenta chips and vegetables would be one of the best fish of the days I've encountered. Whilst the pork with substantial crackling looked equally appealing.
If I could have eaten dessert I would have as the choices were extremely enticing. Great service with a helpful waiter who had a sense of humour. Nice to see an old favourite in such good form.
Don't know about the previous review that mentions the "hot" waiters! I didn't see any either ... but maybe that's because I wasn't on the prowl! And really, Andiamo's got so much going for it that supersedes a few good looks!
This place is fantastic. The service cannot be faulted, and the food, as always, was exquisite. We were the last diners to leave -- yet the staff allowed us to enjoy our meal without giving pushy hints that they wanted to shut shop.
It's nice to know that there is a long-serving restaurant in Auckland that can be relied upon for a very pleasant dining experience. Highly recommended.
Great place - went here a couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised that the experience held up to the recommendations of friends (how often do you go to 'the best place in town' only to be disappointed!).
I did read a review on another dining website, that said to look out for the HOT waiters - but we couldn't spot any!
Popular and well stocked bar to grab a drink before you eat - which makes the whole dining experience that much more pleasant.
