I loved this little cafe, its a hidden quiet gem amoungst the rush of Auckland. Coffee was great also.

hadn't been to Alleluya Cafe before but has always been on my to do list. Great setting along K'Rd with space to burn. Eclectic mix of furniture (my chair felt more like a throne) but it all adds to the character - as does the chatty staff. The Alleluya menu isn't varied but the eggs are damn good. Great coffee too!

Always hear alot about Alleluya but have never been before, so after visiting IkoIko in KRd today I decided to have a coffee there. I knew it was a grungey type of place but the charm of St Kevin's Arcade outweighs any negatives in that regard, although I have to say the cabinet food didn't look as appetising as I had hoped. Pleased to say the food sure made up for that in flavour. The chicken and leek pie was delicious, followed by a date muffin with a sort of ginger toffee icing that was pretty much like eating sticky date pudding in a muffin cup -yum! Coffee was good (if you like it strong!).

Well went to Alleluya on a sunny Autumn Sunday and the place was busy. We tried the Chef's special which should have said something and to be honest, it was terrible. A friend was shouting me lunch or I would have complained. The chicken croquettes were tasteless, daubed with a bit of eggplant on a bed of shredded cabbage on which not even the lightest dressing was apparent.
Coffee was quite good. Either the other items on the menu were substantially better than the croquettes or the attraction of Alleluya cafe lies in a slightly grubby-shabby chic vibe which appeals to some inner city locals. In its favour is the setting at the back of the arcade offering views over the Myers Park.

One of my favourite places to go in Auckland for a coffee. If you have children, they will make them a fluffy in gorgeous mint and pink coloured cup and saucers. Everything at Alleluya is free range and top-notch and the service is always outstanding. Maybe it's not 5 star cuisine but it is honest, down-to-earth cafe fare, and they have amazing live gigs from time to time and surrounded by amazing little boutiques. Alleluya is a K Rd gem.

Alleluya used to be one of my favourite spots - I live about 5 minutes away so I regularly buy coffee and brownies from here. After a really disconcerting incident with the owner/manager today, I won't be going back - I bought coffee from another cafe in the arcade and sat down in what I thought was communal/food court seating - only to have the manager of Alleluya approach me and tell me furiously that I was drinking takeaway coffee at his tables and I was extremely rude. I explained I had no idea that seating was attached to Alleluya, but he wouldn't accept the apology and just repeated that I am extremely rude and walked away. I even asked him which cafe the chairs are for - I had no clue - he just ignored that.

It's a pity because I really did enjoy their food - but I won't ever be going back to Alleluya. Absolutely shocking for someone to treat a potential customer that way.
