I had bought a Grabone voucher for $100 to spend for myself and my husband. We were impressed with the food, everything was deliscious!
We had:
-shaved beef - spiced black vinegarette, mung beans, savoy, spring onion, peanuts, and sesame
-ora king salmon - served seared, with pickles, radish, new zealand wakame, and chive juice

-confit pork belly - cauliflower puree, carrots, crackling and a date jus
-saleyards road fillet steak - pumpkin puree, charred onion, smoked garlic, baby peas and buttered cabbage

-criss cut chips - World famous in Victoria Park, served with tomato sauce
-seasonal vegetables - miso dressing, sesame seeds
-baby potato - roasted and crushed with a garlic, anchovy and herb butter

As I said, everything was so tasty and full of flavour. The service was great, and sitting out on the deck was nice for atmosphere (but even inside looked inviting).

I don't know where other people have eaten before to give it such a high * rating but the food here was so bad I refused to eat it. Normally I can munch my way through some decidedly average meals but this was actually unpleasant.

We had a table of around 8 people who ordered at the same time. Food came out in dribs and drabs from the kitchen. Our lonely vegetarian friend's came out wrong -she ordered the eggplant roll - and it came out just a load of battered eggplant sticks in a cup. They sorted out her order and her replacement one still came out before mine - My meal took about 10-15 minutes longer to come out than everyone elses.

I had the chowder - the soup bit was just unpleasant watery, creamy and tasteless. The fish was overcooked and rubbery and not really much of it to make it a meal. For $23 I would expect something half nice. I actually had to push it away after a few tastes.

One friend ordered the steak - looked nicely griddled but she ordered medium and the waitress put it through medium rare (??) and was just a bit of steak plonked on a plate with some deep fried fries on the side and a poached egg on top. No garnish, sauce or anything. WEIRD and I could have made it more appetizing at home.

Everyone else ordered the ficelle rolls with various fillings and no one was overly impressed with them. The veggie's replacement one came - with the same deep fried eggplant sticks - some sauce and that was it - no salad nothing. She eat the sticks and left the roll - too dry.

The table service in general was pretty good and quick and friendly and, as well as clearly not charging me for something I couldn't eat, did offer to bring me something else free of charge but the food was that unappealing I really didn't want anything else.

I'd go back for drinks in the sun - but may as well go to La Zeppa next door for that and get some decent food.

It was lovely sitting outside on the deck at Tom Tom and even on a Saturday night in summer it was just the right level of busy. The Chowder and Steak, Eggs and Fries ordered were both well presented, tasty and reasonably priced. Three different staff served us and all were helpful and personable. We ordered a Brulee which was somehow forgotten and didn't arrive until I queried it and Sergio (presume the Manager) was kind enough to waive the cost of it. We also had an obscure discount card from my boyfriends work which made us eligible for 20% off the bill. None of the staff had seen one before but they were still happy to honour it. Great vibe, and interesting bathrooms! Will be back.
