Located just off Queen Street, The Occidental Hotel was opened on 2nd July 1870 by American sailor Edward Perkins, and became renowned as one of Auckland’s finest hotels. In 1999 the historic building was transformed into the first authentic Belgian Beer Café in the Southern Hemisphere. We proudly serve extensive selection of finest Belgian beers & some of the best wines from NZ & Australia, complimented by authentic Belgian cuisine. We recommend you try our signature steaming mussel pots, or our famous mussel platters. Enjoy a slice of Europe in the heart of Auckland.
