Just visted for the first time,as is always busy at night, fantastic vibe, beautiful new winter menu and very extensive winelist. Great find, thanks Grange team.
Just left the Grange in Takapuna after a very disappointing experience. Ordered some food which, when it arrived, was not as described on the menu. That wouldn't have been such a problem if the bar manager had dealt with it in a professional manner, but instead we were made to feel as though we were totally unreasonable in raising it! Very poor customer service from a bar manager with an attitude. We left straight afterwards and won't be returning. The Grange isn't humming with activity at the best of times and certainly can't afford to be turning customers off.

The Grange was a lovely place to go, the crowd was more mature, alot more relaxed and the setup was wonderful.
Its great to have a place in Takapuna that sets a different scene from the likes of sin bin and rtotos, and delivers it in a much classier manner than Copper room.
Ill definately return for another night out. Im very keen to try a meal there as the restaurant looks very cool, I can only imagine the food being very yum!!
We visited last night and it was the worst service. After asking for a table we were told to sit "wherever" and a menu would be bought to us. After waiting 10 minutes my husband went to the bar to ask for a menu and waited 5 minutes while the 2 bar staff stood there chatting. It wasn't busy with only 2 other tables in use. We gave up and left after being ignored for a total of 15 minutes. Ruined our evening.
What a good little find on The Shore.
A bit tired of the usual haunts we tried this place on a Friday evening. The place was bustling, with a clientele of a similar age to us (30's), and it was a pleasant relief from the other bars in Takapuna.
We were impressed that the food was all organic; the Calamari a stand out. The service was attentive, if a little slow, but the staff were very busy. Oh, and what a wine list!
We will be back again, on a quieter night, to get the full experience.
The waitress had no idea about the menu.
The seafood chowder was OFF - the whole table could smell it.
2 out of the 4 deserts were unavailable!!!!! One being the grilled fruits - they didn't have enough fruit!!!
The coffee machine was broken!!!
All in all a disaster.

The decor at The Grange is great and the staff so helpful and pleasant. Love the organic food and the fact the eggs are automatically Freerange!! The flavours didnt let us down either. The menu was varied enough to cover brunch or lunch Good value and great food. Will definately be returning.
