Funky little space with nice little balcony and private room. Good for a quiet drink away from the hustle of the main streets.

Went to Tabac last night - a really small bar in Mills Lane, one of the back streets in Auckland Central. And quite possibly, had the friendliest barman I've ever come across (not that I frequent bars often - don't get out that much) but we went to check out Lydia Cole who was having her album launch at Tabac.
Very intimate but a great place for a small gathering listening to great kiwi music. And in between songs the barman keeps yelling out jokes or telling the punters to buy her CDs or tshirts!

Tabac is a very cool bar - unpretentious even though it's the local NZ Herald boozer. The staff at Tabac are always very friendly and happy to give guidance on drinks and nibbles. The balcony is a nice place to hang out on a balmy evening - just don't spill your drink on those walking below!!
