Just back from a meal and a few drinks at Stafford Road Wine in Northcote Point. Can't believe I hadn't heard more about the place - warm and inviting, it's like the North Shore's version of the Gypsy Tea Room in Grey Lynn.
Service was fantastic - I'll be recommending Stafford Road Wine Bar to all and sundry!

We highly recommend the Sunday night set menu & wine match. Been about 5 or 6 times. Food is always fantastic, wine matches are spot on, service & atmosphere is great. Vaughan & Amanda.

We had a great night in on Saturday... Fine Wine ... Tasty tapas ...great service and a fun atmosphere. Special Note : awesome value from the $30 Jugs of sangria - too easy to indulge but thankfully with little to no after effects the next day. A 5 star experience !!

Spotted this fabulous listtle spot on the way out the other evening, and decided to abandon our plans and give it a go.

Love the sumptuous, yet comfortable decor - beautiful big leather chairs, ottomans and even leather, high backed bar chairs, and love the effect of the wallpaper and the brick showing through. Great atmosphere, wonderful buzz.

We tried the beef and lamb small plates & the vegetarian antipasta for 2. Enjoyed all of them, although not 'wowed'. I kind of got the feeling that there is a vision here for fabulous food and fresh flavours, but just felt the execution left a little wanting. But as you can see, I've still rated it 4 stars - it is a great spot, there was nothing especially wrong with the food, it just wasn't quite where I think they were intending it to be.

We'll definitely be back, and look forward to enjoying great wines with good friends in this great little location.
