A little tucked away neighbourhood wine bar you can't beat especially if they have good food. Lots of locals and little chance of tourists. There’s a boutique cinema – Bridgeway and the Engine room just down the road. I know someone who frequents this local as its just doors from her house.

The wine menu is extensive and includes Chianti’s, Rioja’s and Montepulciano. The waitstaff know the drinks list well enough to make recommendations. They’ve also made the Top 10 bars in Auckland.

Ed Verner (ex-Meredith’s and Sidart) has a great tapas type menu. The meatballs were average but the foie gras was delish and the Confit potatoes scrummy.

Apparently the Chili beef buns were great too. Desserts were interesting – one being the Chocolate Moelleux with cigar ice cream.

I’d come here any night of the week, and in Winter there is a fire with some chairs you expect in some old hip library nook. Small and excellent, I wish there was a Stafford Rd wine bar in my Suburb.

There's so much to like about Stafford Road and even the prospect of having to sit street-side on a damp Friday Auckland night didn't deter us from paying this local a visit.
Limited but tasty selection of small plates were enjoyed, the highlight of which being the beef short rib - absolutely delicious. The wine selection is also really good and my partner enthused over the Panhead beer. 5 drinks, 4 plates and a bill just over $100 - well priced in my opinion!

Enjoyed a lovely time at Stafford Road Wine Bar last weekend and only wish we had a neighborhood bar of this calibre around our corner. We were staying with friends in Northcote Point who proudly claim this place as their local...I can see why. Awesome beer and wine list (it helps when you're right next to a great bottley!) and the tapas food is fantastic too. Stafford Road is one of those venues where you could got for one and 5 hours later wonder what happened to the time!

how did I not discover Stafford Road Wine Bar sooner? This bar is absolutely first class. Tiny and chock-a-block full of locals, the setting can't be matched. The tapas menu is great but it's the selection of craft beer that gets me going - what a fantastic experience. Make the excuse to head to Northcote Point and stay a while at Stafford Road - you won't regret it!

A great 'locals' bar and bursting at the seams on our visit last Friday night. Stafford Road Wine Bar is one of those bars that you'd wish your own suburb had...good times and great company all within stumbling distance of your letterbox.
We managed to squeeze in at the bar and ordered a few tapas - the house meatballs were fantastic as was the scallops.
I was thoroughly enjoying the Renaissance Pale Ale as well - until I was reminded of the $18 a pop price tag - but then assured myself that I was doing the NZ craft beer industry a favour!
We have to cross the motorway to head to Stafford Road Wine Bar - I think that's a small sacrifice to pay to enjoy one of Auckland's very best neighbourhood bars.

We love having Stafford Wine Bar in our neighbourhood. It's a great place for a drink or tapas with friends, and their tasting sessions and special events are are fun way to learn a little more about wine. Point Wines out the back has a great selection of wines and knowledgeable staff that are always available to give advice.

Just back from a meal and a few drinks at Stafford Road Wine in Northcote Point. Can't believe I hadn't heard more about the place - warm and inviting, it's like the North Shore's version of the Gypsy Tea Room in Grey Lynn.
Service was fantastic - I'll be recommending Stafford Road Wine Bar to all and sundry!

We had a great night in on Saturday... Fine Wine ... Tasty tapas ...great service and a fun atmosphere. Special Note : awesome value from the $30 Jugs of sangria - too easy to indulge but thankfully with little to no after effects the next day. A 5 star experience !!

Spotted this fabulous listtle spot on the way out the other evening, and decided to abandon our plans and give it a go.

Love the sumptuous, yet comfortable decor - beautiful big leather chairs, ottomans and even leather, high backed bar chairs, and love the effect of the wallpaper and the brick showing through. Great atmosphere, wonderful buzz.

We tried the beef and lamb small plates & the vegetarian antipasta for 2. Enjoyed all of them, although not 'wowed'. I kind of got the feeling that there is a vision here for fabulous food and fresh flavours, but just felt the execution left a little wanting. But as you can see, I've still rated it 4 stars - it is a great spot, there was nothing especially wrong with the food, it just wasn't quite where I think they were intending it to be.

We'll definitely be back, and look forward to enjoying great wines with good friends in this great little location.
