We dropped into the Ship & Anchor in Orewa because we wanted a good old-fashioned pub meal. I ordered the Sunday roast - the meat was fine (though a little chewy), as were the spuds and kumara, but the remainder of the veges were out of the microwave and burnt my mouth.


So were the veges served to my friend (who tried the chicken and camembert, which he said was okay).


Rather average, and another basic dinner that reminded us that it's better to cook at home than risk a pub meal. One good thing though: the staff were very pleasant.
