My Bar

This is a brilliant venue to host a private function. The owner Grant is extremely helpful and our barman on the night, Asa, was a wonderful host. The drinks were very reasonably priced and the music options were awesome. Thanks Maxine

My friend and I had our a joint Birthday/Farewell party here. It was so easy to organise and definitely good value for money. The staff were fantastic, so accomodating. The Security Guard on the night was particularly good at his job and very professional. My Bar is situated in a very handy location and we would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a venue for any occasion :) Thanks Kim and Victoria!

Hidden away just off Queen Street, MyBar is a real gem – much in the spirit of the Cheers bar in Boston. Small, intimate and classy. I decided to celebrate my birthday here last year, and I cannot recommend MyBar (and Kiki) more highly!

I looked at a few different venues, but most of them were simply too large. This venue is ideally suited for 40-50 people. It’s big enough to not feel crowded at those numbers, but it’s small enough that in the early stages of your function (ie. when only 10 people have arrive), it doesn’t feel too big either!

I also love the fact that the function room is isolated from the main bar. This makes it very easy to control gate-crashers (which is always a potential problem when you’re offering free food or drinks). For your money you get a room with its own bar [and hostess – would recommend Kiki ;) ]; your own seating area; your own music system; your own toilets and your own smoking balcony… perfect! I’ll definitely be coming back this year to once again celebrate my birthday. Thanks Kiki! =)

We booked MyBar (at the very last minute!!) for a hen party. I was amazed by (and thankful for!) the relaxed and accomodating attitude of the staff at the venue. All of our requests were catered for smoothly and efficiently - the drinks and food are very reasonably priced, the function room is classy and the facilities (such as the plasma tv and ipod connectivity) really enhanced the night. The location was very central and accessible for all of our guests - I could not recommend it highly enough! I live in Melbourne and this bar has the character and charm to rival Melbourne's famous laneway bars. Try out Mybar, you will not be disappointed!

I had my 40th birthday in the function room upstairs at Mt Bar. It was an awesome night, Kiki (hostess) was outstanding and exceeded all our expectations. Zero room hire, great food (lots of variety), very attentive service, all lead to a seamless function. I was able to take a iPod play list and play through My Bar's system which was great. There were lots of comments from our guests about how nice and central the location was, and lots of fans of the gourmet beers. 5 stars not applied lightly, the whole night and planning was professionally handled and the result was a fantastic night. Couldn't have wished for anything else!!

I threw a surprise Birthday Party for my husband recently upstairs in the Function Room at My Bar. It was a wonderful party. The bar tender was really attentive and made us some amazing cocktails. One of the My Bar staff made up a playlist of contemporary music including some great dance tracks. My Hubby and his mates loved the local craft beers on offer. Two of my friends are planning on having their Birthday celebrations at My bar - its a great party venue.

Nice interiors but dealt with disrespectful and uncommitted staff. Held a birthday party at My Bar's functions room upstairs, paid 200 for the night with an understanding the party will go past midnight and perhaps wrap up around 2am. The nice thing with the deal was no minimum spend seeing my party was for a small group of friends.
But on the night, the manager in charge wanted to shut the whole bar at 12! Didn't speak to me directly but sent a bored lady staff who probably just wanted to chitchat with other staff downstairs to tell me that. Outrageous, total inconvenience and mood downer in the middle of a party and a rip off for the money!
We argued of course and stayed till 1:30 but what skin cringing nuisance. Wouldn't go back to My Bar again!

I work in the city and had been meaning to try out My Bar for a few weeks so myself and a few colleagues went there last Wednesday.
Although busy, we managed to get an outside table (great for people-watching) and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Good wine list and the staff at My Bar really looked like they were enjoying themselves (which you don't often see particularly at this time of the year.)
