After almost 3 years in Auckland, we still hadn't been to Snowplanet so thought it would be a good idea to treat the kids and see what all the fuss was about.
We'd had a good blast on the snow and, all famished, went to lunch at the Mountain View Restaurant. Ski chalet-style setting (as you'd expect) with a good kids play area and plenty of tables and chairs.
The food is not gourmet by any means (we opted for the Nachos and the 'gourmet' wedges), but nourishing all the same and let's face it, if you're hungry you'll eat anything!
I'd return to Mountain View Restaurant even if snowboarding/skiing weren't options.

Has to be one of teh most enjoyable places to have a bite to eat or drink with constant comedy watching people falling off their snowboards or ski's....... Also enjoyable to watch some of the better riders dominating! Saw a band play here once while they had a snowboard competition.
Great atmosphere and a good place to take visitors from out of town!
