20 St Johns Road,
Great in the day time but the service is appalling in the evening , they messed up our booking, were rude to us about it and made us feel at fault for their mistake. the waiter appeared mortified by the managers behaviour and gave me the operations managers number - who didn't bother to return the call.
Made my first visit last afternoon and while it is great to have an establishment close to home, the service was slow and got charged for drinks never received. I have heard from another visitor that, they also, got charged for drinks that never arrived. I would go back but may prefer to wait a month or so until things settle themselves out.
I have been into Meadow several times since it opened, although I could sense some initial teething problems - as one might expect for a new opening - during the first few days in business I have been pleasantly surprised since. The location, decor and menu have combined to add life to what was previously a tired and baron part of town on the hospitality front. You'll be seeing a fair bit of me there this summer, great selection of drinks and pleasant, conscientious staff.
I have been so looking forward to the opening of this Cafe. What a disappointment!! The surroundings are fantastic but unfortunately this is not matched with quality food or good service. My advice is do not open until you are ready to open and you guys are clearly not ready to be in operation. The service is appalling. The people sitting next to us left, sick of waiting for coffee and they commented to us that their caesar salad was poor. You guys need to get your act together as you will lose custom before you even get started. One suggestion is train your service people!!
