Have been there three times for breakfast in past two months.
Surroundings pleasant and food is consistently high standard, coffee good too. Bit of a lottery on the service side though. First two visits service was faultless, water and menus brought to table by friendly, helpful staff.
Different story Monday 10th September. It wasn't busy, but staff were disengaged, almost disdainful, and table service no longer happening. Once we approached the counter and attracted some attention, they pointed to the pile of menu's. Didn't bother to mention that you now have to come back to the counter if you wish to order, you can work that out for yourself.
Food and coffee still very good, but if that was our first experience, we might not go back.

Imperial Lane is a very cool venue. I love the interior and the heaters above each table are a bonus in this cold weather! A great place to meet friends for a drink and catch up. The wine list is a little small for my liking, but I do enjoy a glass of the Church Road Cab Sav to warm up. Imperial Lane makes a good transition from day time coffee to the night time drinks and nibbles vibe.

I've been going there many, many times. Except for the coffee (which I find too strong and with a sour taste) everything is great - the place is unique in its style, and although the atmosphere can at times be a bit loud, worth a visit just for a stroll through from Fort St to Queen St

The free Wifi is a bonus and the danish are hands-down the best danish you can get anywhere in Auckland. I haven't had better anywhere else, not even in Europe.

This place is pretty cool, love the lamps and they have heaters for each table. Didnt realise you could order from the restaurant upstairs which is similar to their night menu. Love the Tokyo chicken at Imperial Lane. That Rocks.

Went to Imperial Lane for the first time last week and really liked the way it looks, the light on the walls were really cool and so were the long tables. The lane itself is a cafe but also a public walk way so you get to see random people walking past when you are having a coffee.

I had a coffee and a chicken pie, the pie was really good. I love pies. Got a fruit tart to take back to the office.

It was a little windy but the heaters were really good so I wasn't cold. It's a cool spot, kind of reminds me of Melbourne.

To die for! Really. The coffee could have killed us it was so terrible. Slow to come out...and it was only a couple of long blacks. Tasted foul. Poorly extracted. Served by staff that looked glum land did not want to be there...somewhat like food court or kebab shop workers.

I mean really. You spend all that money on a beautiful development like this and you hire people that lack enthusiasm, and lack the technical skills of making coffee. The cabinet food was also unimaginative. Looked like a premiumized version of the white bread brigade you see in any Muffin Break.

Go for a look. Imperial Lane is a beautiful space. Good luck with the coffee.

Good concept - good food - good coffee - pleasant staff.....but
Terrible service !
After 3 visits to Imperial Lane, I am still confused about where or how to order and how to pay.
On 2 occasions it has taken 20 minutes for my coffee to arrive and I was not there at peak times
