Really bad bar. The staff should be sacked.

I went to buy the first round of drinks and waited two minutes for the barman to finish talking to the DJ and get around to serve me.

My friend was kept waiting whilst the long haired barman gave away free drinks to his girlfriend and her friends.

We eventually left after my girlfriend went to the bar and was sexually harassed by a couple of guys who had been talking to the barman

I will not be going back and will be telling everybody I know not to go.

Avoid this place, there are plenty of much better bars along Ponsonby Road.

I was with a group of friends and we had been sitting in the couch area downstairs for about 2 hours before a member of Grand Central's staff came over and told us, quite rudely, that the couch area had been 'reserved'. We asked how the couches in a bar could be reserved? The bar guy became quite annoyed that we were querying this and we were asked to vacate the space immediately. As we left a blonde girl said 'thanks babe' to the staff member who evicted us, and her group of friends took over the couch area.

The service is slow and the vibe is akin to a smelly old student flat. Don't go here unless you like grimy bars that charge plenty, impolite bar staff and company that is tacky.

I recommend that you bypass Grand Central and pop down to any one of the other — friendly — bars on Ponsonby Road (PSC, Mea Culpa et al.) instead.

Grand Central is a fantastic Venue with a unique and cosy atmosphere that is second to none! Bar staff were friendly and down to earth! Looking forward to going back to watch the Grand Central Band one day soon!!

Not impressed. Sleazy and very down market. Has a late nite licence which keeps the punters coming but would have no chance if there was some serious late nite competition in Ponsonby. Miserable bar staff too- look like they just wanna go home.
