My Mum and I were having a girly night in Auckland city, and after attending a comedy show, doing a bit of "bar hopping", and hooning around on the back of one of those bike-taxis, we decided to stop in to Freddy's Ice House to check it out. We had such a laugh inside the bar (which is essentially a walk-in freezer)! The staff were very accommodating - putting up with our terrible jokes and poses for the camera. The drinks were yum; poured in to a cup made of ice, which the bar tender even let us ceremoniously smash against the wall on our way out! :-)

I would probably consider it a bit expensive if you were to go regularly, but Freddy's Ice House definitely worth at least one visit.

A bit sad, it could have been a hit but too much attention paid to the quick buck I think. They should charge for the warm gear and make it optional than casual guests wouldn't stay long anyway. The whole photo thing is a bit lame and of course the first thing you notice about the place is that it is *way* too small.

I would to let it known to all the people who plan to visit freddy's ice house not to waste your time and money $30 is not worth it at all. the bar is too small and the ice sculpture are not that amazing as they put it on their ads. The service is bad, the staff are rude especially the small guy with the scottish accent. they annoy you every now and then to buy more and more drinks, they have a way of telling you to get out already if you don't buy more drinks...not to mentioned, you have to pay $8 for the photo that they took of you with low resolution with a promise they would email you the photos if you want but until now we were still waiting...

Its worse sad experience ever

Friendly staff...NZ$25 for entry which includes a cocktail plus they supply you with a jacket and gloves to keep warm{inner disp plastic gloves are given for hygienic reasons}...small area but Freddy's Ice House is a must do....lovely ice sculptures...staff take as many pictures with their camera as you want then you can review them with an option to buy at NZ$8 per photo...overall great experience
